Large, medium,Small and gaps in three representative forest types Picea sp.-Abies nephlolepis-Pinus koraiensis mixed forest (PAP), Betula costata-Pinus koraiensis mixed forest (BP), Tilia amurensis-Pinus koraiensis mixed forest (TP) were selected as experimental plots, and respectively closed stand around each gap was set up as the control in Xiaoxing’an Mountains of Northeast China in 2012. Litter layers and soil enzyme activities (catalase enzyme, peroxidase enzyme, sucrase enzyme, amylase enzyme, cellulose enzyme) in the different size of forest gaps and their controls of various forest types was determined on June, August, October, aims to illustrate the gap size for different types of natural Pinus koraiensis mixed forest changes of litter and soil enzyme activities, The results are as follows:(1) Gap size have significant effect on litter and soil catalase enzyme activities in three kinds of natural Korean pine mixed forest. Gap size have no significant effect on litter and soil peroxidase enzyme activities, Gap size have yes or no significant effect on litter and soil sucrase enzyme, amylase enzyme, cellulose enzyme activities.(2) The Max of litter layers catalase enzyme, peroxidase enzyme, amylase enzyme activities appeared in June in three kinds of natural Korean pine mixed forest, the Max of litter layers sucrase enzyme activities appeared in October, the Max of litter layers cellulose enzyme activities appeared in August. The Max of soil layers catalase enzyme, peroxidase enzyme, cellulose enzyme activities appeared in October, the Max of soil layers sucrase enzyme amylase enzyme activities appeared in August.(3) In PAP and TP, with different gaps size change, litter and soil layers catalase enzyme activities were higher in medium gap. In BP litter layers catalase enzyme activities was higher in large gap, but soil layers catalase enzyme activities was higher in medium gap. In three different forest types, litter layers peroxidase enzyme activities was higher in medium gap, but soil layer peroxidase enzyme activities was inconsistent performance. In PAP and BP, litter layers sucrase enzyme activities was higher in medium gap and soil layers sucrase enzyme activities was higher in small gap; in TP litter and soil layers sucrase enzyme activities was higher in medium gap. In PAP litter layers amylase enzyme activities was higher in large gap and soil layers amylase enzyme activities was higher in small gap; in BP litter and soil layers amylase enzyme activities were all higher in small gap; in TP litter and soil layers amylase enzyme activities were all higher in medium gap. In PAP litter layers cellulose enzyme activities was higher in small gap, but soil layers cellulose enzyme activities was higher in large gap; in BP litter and soil layers cellulose enzyme activities were higher in large gap; in TP litter and soil layers cellulose enzyme activities were higher in small gap.(4) In the gap size of three different forest types, litter layers catalase enzyme, peroxidase enzyme, sucrase enzyme, amylase enzyme activities and soil layers corresponding enzyme activities was a significant correlation or very significant correlation. But litter and soil layers cellulose enzyme were all a very significant correlation.
