The bulk grain silos from a port company has been used 12 years, the waterproof material of underground equipment passage is aging seriously, the drainage system of the passage is invalid, air is wet and pools of water collected on the ground of the passage, that has caused the corrosion of underground mechanical equipment seriously, wet air and some leaked grain has produced methane, that has already affect the normal work of the port, and the methane is a threat to the workers in the passage. The ventilation system and drainage system need to be optimizated to solve the problem.This paper propose a solution that use FLUENT software to analysis flow field of ventilation system to determine the best approach.The preliminary work includes: getting into the underground passage to get the data of building scale, working condition of original ventilation system and drainage system and water division on the ground; reforming ventilation system to lower water surface height; according to the relevant requirements of the ventilation engineering, consider about the water promble, use Dalton model to calculate relevant physical paramete of the optimized ventilation system.Establishing the mathematical model, using FLUENT software to simulate the flow fieid of ventilation system, finding out the problem of original ventilation system. In order to improve the ventilation, fans need to be installed in three east-west channels, one north-south channel and the pit of bucket elevator, using flow field simulation to confirm parameters about the number and position of fan, the speed of fan wind, and the reform of partial structure. Based on the trends of gas flow from east to west, In accordance with the order of three east-west channels, north-south channel, pit of bucket elevator, to determine the ventilation optimization of the bulk grain silo underpass.Finally, the ventilation optimization had been given to the port company, reformed the ventilation system and drainage system. After construction and detection, the optimization of ventilation system can solve the promble and guarantee the normal work of the port.
