Due to the growing problem of food safety and environmental pollution in China, organic vegetable cultivation has become a hot research field in organic agriculture. In the present study, we designed four kinds of cultivation, namely pure organic fertilizer, organic fertilizer and soil treatment, inorganic fertilizer and soil treatment and pure paddy soil treatment, with pot experiment to study the different influence on the quality of the southern leafy vegetables under organic planting and conventional planting. Through direct measurement method, atmospheric pressure drying method and spectrophotometry method, the fresh weight, dry weight, plant height, vitamin C, chlorophyll, soluble sugar and other indicators were measured. The results showed that the differences were significant in vegetables cultivated by 4 different methods. With the inorganic fertilizer + soil cultivation, vegetables got the significantly higher fresh weight, dry weight, plant height and plant growth rate than those with organic cultivation, but the contents of vitamin C and soluble sugar were lower than those in the organic cultivation. The research conclusions are as follows:1. Vegetables cultivated by the organic method has the advantage in the quality, but the yield is not as good as that with conventional cultivation. Treatment of external morphology of plant growth promoting action sequence: inorganic fertilizer and soil > + organic fertilizer soil > pure organic fertilizer≈pure paddy soil.2. The appropriate amount of chicken manure organic fertilizer have positive effects on growth and physiological nutrition of vegetables, but high concentration would inhibit its growth and soluble sugar, vitamin C and chlorophyll synthesis in the actual production, the choice of organic fertilizer and the proportion is very important.3. Different cultivation methods will affect the yield and quality of the vegetables. So in the actual production, appropriate planting method should be adopted based on different kinds of vegetables, so as to obtain the maximum benefits with the smallest cost.
