The effects of temperature(15, 20 and 25 ℃) and body weight [(23.9±2.0),(30.1±1.5) and(43.8±1.6) g] on oxgen compution(Ro) and ammonia excretion(RN) rate were irestigated in Takifuger rubripes juveniles. Meanwhile, the metabolic effects of Philippines clam(Ruditapes philippinarum) were investigated under different concentrations of Cu(II)(0.01, 0.1, 0.4 and 1 mg/L). The results as following:(1)) At water temperaturefrom15 ℃ to25 ℃, the oxygen consumption rate(RO) and ammonia excretion rate(RN) of Takifuger rubripes larvae increases with the increasing of temperature(T), and the related equation follow: weight of 23.9±2.0 g, RO = 0.5907 e0.0118 T(R2 = 0.9966), RN = 0.0407 e0.028 T(R2 = 0.9999).Weight of 30.1 ± 1.5 g, RO = 0.4636 e0.0194 T(R2 = 0.9998), RN = 0.0288 e0.0346 T(R2 = 0.9943).Weight of 43.8 ± 1.6 g, RO = 0.3089 e0.0317 T(R2 = 0.9918), RN = 0.0201 e0.0396 T(R2 = 0.9456).(2) Oxygen consumption rate and ammonia excretion rate of Takifuger rubripes larvae were increased with the increase of fish weight reduction. The relationship of RO, RN and weight(W) at the temperature of 15 ℃, RO = 4.6768 W-0.596(R2 = 0.9993), RN = 1.1804 W-0.933(R2 = 0.9968). At the temperature of 20 ℃, RO = 2.5117 W-0.381(R2 = 0.9989), RN = 0.5273 W-0.536(R2 = 0.9941); At the temperature of 25 ℃, RO = 1.8587 W-0.268(R2 = 0.9961), RN = 0.8753 W-0.748(R2 = 0.9993).(3) O/N ratio of Takifuger rubripes larval decreased with the increase of temperature, along with the increase of body weight.(4) Low concentration of Cu(II) in water can irritate the respiratory metabolism of the Ruditapes philippinarum; with the concentration Cu(II) increased, a series of toxic effects appeared on the Ruditapes philippinarum, lead to some metabolic disorders, and damage the health of the Ruditapes philippinarum.(5) The appropriate concentration of Cu(II) has a promoting effect on organism’s breathing and metabolism, but when Cu(II) concentration is greater than 0.4 mg/L, it could be induced several toxic effect on the organism, inhibition of organism’s breathing and metabolism.Cu(II) in the Ruditapes philippinarum had great effects on the oxidation of defense system. A low concentration of Cu(II) stress on SOD, CAT and GSH-Px activity has inhibitory effect, because the Ruditapes philippinarum under low concentration can mobilize its defenses against stress, enzyme activity is suppressed. However, when Cu(II) concentration increased to 0.4 mg/L, the activity of SOD, CAT and GSH-Px have induced effect, because the antioxidant system in the excitability of restored enzyme activity. With the Cu(II) concentration further increase, the SOD, CAT and GSH-Px activity decreased, indicating the toxic effect of Cu(II) to the Ruditapes philippinarum.
