The ecological restoration and vegetation reconstruction was an important part of the loess plateau. With the increase of plantation area, the research of plantation community species diversity was necessary. Improve the plantation community species diversity, could reduce the occurrence of forest diseases and insect pests effectively, at the same time,could increase the stability of plantation ecosystem. Through the research ofcommunity species diversity on the loess plateau plantation,could provide reasonable technical measures for ecological construction in the loess plateau arid areas and the sustainable development of plantation.This article selects WuChuan County near Hohhot, Qingshuihe, Guyang county as the study area, in loess area Ulmus pumila woodland as the research object.In each of the test sample, selection of typical and representative sample to elm woodlands of vegetation investigation. Trees, set the quadrat 20 m by 30 m, herb set 1 m multiplied by 1 m samples. Statistics of arbor tree species, tree height and diameter at breast height; Shrubs recorded name, height and base diameter; Determination of herbaceous species name, height and biomass on the ground, and uses the full harvest method to calculate the herb biomass on the ground.Based on the sample of elm woodlands flora characteristics were analyzed, and found that the density of the different regions of differences, the main cause of this situation is planted habit. Characteristics analysis results also presents the elm woodlands of planting density and tree height distribution has certain correlation; At the same time, planting density and diameter of trees also has certain correlation.Through the survey of elm thin forest herb layer, found that the dominant species and co-dominant species for artemisia classes; All kinds of herb layer in average height between 4.7 cm and 11.7 cm; All kinds of herb layer biomass of per unit area in between 100.67 g/m2 ~ 188.33 g/m2, biomass averages 138.89 g, the standard deviation is 41.39. Through the analysis we can draw the Ulmus pumila woodland planting density, height of tree, forests herb biomass on the ground with higher community has close correlation.
