564 of Streptomyces strains were isolated from soil samples of Songshan and Xuchang in Henan province. 136 of strains which inhibited the growth of Rhizoctonia cerealis were screened and 30 strains which strong inhibited the growth of Rhizoctonia cerealis were screened as well. In addition, 30 strains showed different inhibition activity against other 9 pathogenic fungi. Among of them, strain SCY505 showed inhibition activity against all of the 9 pathogenic fungi such as Fusarium graminearum, Fusarium oxysporium, Bipolaris maydis, Colletotrichum graminicola, Glomerella cingulata, Phytophthora capsici, Pythium aphanidermatum, Alternaria alternate and Botrytis cinerea.30 of strains were classified as the Flavus group, Albosporus group, Roseosporus group, Lavendulae group, Glaucus group, Cinereus group, Cyaneus group, Griseorubroviolaceus group, Griseofuscus group, Aureus group and an unknown group respectively,based on the morphological and physical characteristics. Among of them, Aureus group of Streptomyces was the predominant group of Henan aeras.They were separately identified as S. tauricus, S. vinaceus, S. flaveus, S.aureus, S. subrutilus, S. flavidofuscus, S. setonii, S. indigoferus, S. exfoliatus, S. europaeiscabiei, S. scabiei, S. ogaensis, S. humiferus, S. lividans, S. lavendulae, S. capillispiralis, S. flavomacrosporus, S. olivochromogenes, S. graminearus, S. erythrochromogenes, S. violaceolatus,S. diastatochromogenes respectively, by the analysis of 16S rDNA sequences, morphological, physical and biochemical characteristics.The phylogenetic tree of 53 strains based on 16S rDNA sequences showed that strain SXY46 was most similar to S. flavidofuscus, but there were some differences on morphological, physical and biochemical characteristics. The results showed that strain SXY46 may be a new species of Nocardiopsis and it is necessary to do more study on strain SXY46 by molecular hybridization and other methods.The antagonistic Streptomyces resources of Henan province are rich as well as the population diversity of antagonistic Streptomyces is polymorphic,which may be helpful for the Streptomyces resource exploitation and utilization of Henan, and it is possible that there are many new microbial resources can be used availably.
