In resent years, many reports show that Pestalotiopsis can produce numerous secondarymetabolites which have several structures, novel skeletons and varied bioactivity, such asanticancer substances (paclitaxel and harringtonic acid), antibacterial substances (cyclohexanederivatives, harringtonic acid and pestaloside). It has become important source for searchingnew bioactivity natural products. In this study, the secondary metabolites of two Pestalotiopsis strains were chosen toinvestigate, and some of compounds were done preliminary biological activity test. Thechemical constitutes were separated and purified by phase silica gel chromatography, preparation thin layer chromatography, Sephadex LH-20, Sephadex LH-60, HPLC,recrystallization, et al. The compound structures were elucidated on the base of extensivespectroscopic evidences including IR, UV, NMR and MS. There are total of thirty compoundsincluding two new ones were isolated and identified.Pestalotiopsis heterocornis was isolated from stem of Bruguiera gymnoihiza. Seventeencompounds including two new compounds were isolated and identified from the secondarymetabolites of this strain, including benzene derivatives, sterols, and so on. All thecompounds were isolated from this endophytic fungi for the first time.Pestalotiopsis gracillis was isolated from stem of Malus spectabilis. Thirteencompounds were isolated and identified from the secondary metabolites of this strain, including sterols, benzene derivatives, and so on. All the compounds were firstly isolatedfrom this endophytic fungi.
