[Objective]By means of establishing the Rabbit carotid atherosclerosis (CAS) plaque model,We come to observe the correlation between the different gray scale ultrasoundand histological type, elasticity coefficient (the elastic stiffness E-value, the ratio ofhardness), get the elasticity coefficient of different gray scale ultrasound plaque type,summarize Application Experience of Real-time Tissue Elastography technology(RTE)in Plaque Detection, and then provide experimental pathology basis for theapplication in carotid plaque classification of this technology.[Materials and Methods]The study is divided into two parts:1、High-fat diet+air drying technique can beused to create rabbit carotid atherosclerosis (CAS) model.2、We could get thetwo-dimensional gray-scale genotyping, the elastic stiffness E-value and the ratio ofhardness of the plaque with ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus GE LOGIQ E9, and allcases were confirmed by pathology. The correlation between the different gray scaleultrasound and histological type, elasticity coefficient was analyzed with the rankcorrelation theory. Univariate ANOVA was used to compare the multi-group means ofdifferent gray scale ultrasound plaque classification and LSD was used for pairwisecomparison between groups.[Results]15rabbits with a total of30carotid arteries, two carotid arteries formed anocclusive changes, enable us successfully established28CAS model with a total of51cases of plaque. The experimental CAS Plaques number was34. There is a positive correlation between plaque gray scale ultrasound type,pathological type and elasticity coefficient. Different gray scale ultrasoundclassification plaque elastic stiffness indexes, elastic contrast Ratio are not all thesame. And between different gray scale ultrasound classification plaque elasticstiffness indexes, apart from the difference of Group I and Group II, group II andgroup III, another two groups both have statistical significance. Between differentgray scale ultrasound classification plaque elastic contrast Ratio value, except forGroup I and Group II, another two disparities have statistical significance.[Conclusions]1、Fat diet combined air-drying technique can be used to create rabbit carotidatherosclerosis (CAS) model with a short time, simple method and a high successrate.2、There is a positive correlation between plaque gray scale ultrasound type,pathological type and elasticity coefficient.3、Elasticity coefficient of different gray scale ultrasound classification plaque aredifferent,the higher of the gray scale ultrasound classification, the higher of theelastic stiffness indexes and elastic contrast Ratio.4、Real-time Tissue Elastography have a high feasibility in the application ofassessing rabbit carotid artery plaque classification,however, it has many influentialfactors, further more, it requires the operator’s high technique skills, and itsrepeatability is restricted, it is still in the experimental stage. Our tests have only a fewnumber cases, the results are for reference only.
