Objective:Explore video EEG monitoring in the diagnosis of epilepsy and non-epilepticseizure disorders, differential diagnosis, locate and determine the clinical significance ofseizure types and epileptic syndromes, Improve the diagnosis of epilepsy rate and reducethe rate of misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis rate, this technology will be widely used inclinical practiceResearch Methods:Select the Affiliated Hospital of Yan’an University in January–September,2013. randomized patients received clinical onset of disease diagnosed97cases,Including:male50cases, female47cases; minimum3years, maximum73years.The mean age was31.06±18.73years old. Fewer episodes were1-2times a year.Frequently attacks dozens of times a day.58cases with the clinical diagnosis of epilepsyas the experimental group of,39patients with suspected seizures as a control group. Twogroups of patients were monitored and REEG monitoring VEEG. Epilepsy dischargedetection rate between the experimental group and the control group. Phase (awakeperiod, sleep) when the relationship between clinical seizures in patients with epilepsyand sleep in comparison to monitor and determine the type of seizures. Comparison ofepilepsy discharges whether there are differences.Result1.In58cases of epilepsy in the experimental group, VEEG monitored epilepsy dischargerate of72.41%(42/58).VEEG monitored epilepsy discharge rate of34.48%(17/58).Thepositive rate of epilepsy discharges contrast, the difference was statistically significant.(Χ2=16.769, P <0.05).2.In39cases of suspected patients in the control group, REEG monitoring epilepsydischarges was7.69%(3/39), VEEG monitoring epilepsy discharges was28.2%(11/39),Epilepsy discharges positive rate, the difference was statistically significant (χ2=4.84p<0.05).There are six clinical onset,2/6people with clinical seizures epilepsy EEGdischarges, After analysis, consider seizures. Although the remaining4episodes ofclinical EEG abnormalities but there are no corresponding wave changes, Two are artificial hysteria-like episodes, one is episodes of syncope, one is involuntarymovements.3. In58cases of epilepsy patients,24patients (41.37%,24/58) video EEG monitoring inclinical onset, patients were clinical seizures occur once or several times ranged attack, only appeared in15patients sleep (25.86%,12/58), which only appeared sober attack of6patients (10.34%,6/58), in both awake and sleep hair of three cases (5.17%,3/58).Awake period, awake and sleep of discharge were significantly lower than the sleepperiod, a comparison between the three, the difference was statistically significant (χ2=11.310, P=0.003).By comparing the clinical course and intermittent episodes of EEGchanges and seizures in patients when combined with the performance, Combined withpast medical history, Initially identified for onset seizures of the type.are:16cases arePartial seizures.5cases are Simple partial seizures (SPS).8cases are complex partialseizures (CPS).3cases are part of the following generalized seizures;8cases aregeneralized seizures, Including two cases are absence seizures, three cases aretonic-clonic seizures, three cases are tonic seizures.4. VEEG monitored a total of42cases of epilepsy in the experimental group of epilepticdischarge.15cases are limited to the right hemisphere,16cases are limited to the lefthemisphere.11cases occurred with diffuse bilateral hemispheres. The left and right sideswas no significant difference comparison (χ2=0.51, P=0.821).Conclusion1.Video EEG monitoring to monitor the clinical onset of the video corresponding EEGchanges, Provides the basis for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis between epilepsyand seizure disorders. Improve the detection rate of epilepsy and reduce the rate ofmisdiagnosis and missed diagnosis rate.2.The use of video EEG in epilepsy, so that the detection rate of epilepsy dischargessignificantly improved. Significantly improved the detection rate of epilepsy discharges.3.Video EEG analysis in the natural state of complete sleep cycle (awake and sleepperiod), Can better distinguish the sleep disorders. Sleep can initiation epilepsydischarges. Especially in NREM, epilepsy discharges is easily appeared in NREM.
