Objective: Evaluation the early and middle-long-term results of tricuspid valvereplacement by mechanical or biological Prostheses; And through the follow-up ofTVR with mechanical or biological prostheses, discuss the advantages anddisadvantages and selection principle, for future reference. Methods: From March2005to December2011,Union Hospital of Fujian MedicalUniversity completed a total of123cases of cardiac surgical TVR surgery,14caseswere lost after surgery, perioperative death in14patients and the remaining95patients (59patients with mechanical valves,36patients with biological valves) werefollowed.According to the type of artificial valve, Divided into mechanical valve andbiological valve group, collect their preoperative general, surgery and postoperativefollow-up data situation, combined with literature, analyze, compare tricuspid valvereplacement application of mechanical valve or biological valve selection and itseffect on the quality of life of patients after surgery. Results: Perioperative mortality was11.4%, from follow-up in improved lowerextremity edema、right atrium reduced、postoperative cardiac function and heartfunction improvement aspects, mechanical valve group is superior to the biological;the incidence of TR and right atrial enlargement after the surgery were lower than thebiological valve group. Two groups in perioperative mortality, sex ratio of death inpatients, ICU treatment time, hospital streatment time, postoperative tricuspid valvepressure has no significant difference. From follow-up we found that:2patients withsudden death in mechanical valve group, respectively12and17months from thesurgery, the cause is unknown. one case found paravalvular leakage, the situation islighter, to medical treatment.;one case found mechanical valve dysfunction, recentlyproposed valve replacement again. three cases for tricuspid valve reoperation inbiological valve group (respectively from the first surgery36months,50months and63months). Conclusions:1.TVR is an effective means to treating severe tricuspid valve disease.2.The data showed that the mechanical valve group in cardiac function improvement isbetter than biological valve group.3.The incidence of tricuspid regurgitation and rightventricular dysfunction in biological valve group are more serious than theperformance of mechanical valve group.4reoperation chance in biological valvegroup was higher than mechanical valve group in nearly seven years, the suddendeath rate of mechanical valve group is higher, due to the small number of cases, needto do further research in the future.
