Objective:The purpose of this study is to explore the expression of miR-365, miR-142-3p andmiR-1207-3p in oxidative LDL-damaged endothelial cells and their role in thepathogenesis of atherosclerosis. Methods:Human umbilical vein endothelial cells were cultured with50μg/ml of oxidativeLDL. The expression of miR-365, miR-142-3p and miR-1207-3p was determinedwith quantitative real-time PCR assay. Results:Relative expression levels of miR-142-3p in umbilical vein endothelial cells were1.714and6.831respectively24and48hours after addition of oxidative LDLcompared with control. The expression of miR-365and miR-1207-3p was detectablein oxidative LDL-damaged endothelial cells but not in normal umbilical veinendothelial cells.Conclusion:1. There was increased expression of miRNA142-3p in the oxidative process ofendothelial cells and in a treatment time-dependent manner.2. The increased expression of miRNA142-3p in the endothelial cells may play animportant role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and are expected to provide newtherapeutic targets.
