PurposeTo study the correlation between the dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) features and the expression of molecular biological markers ER, PR, Her-2and Ki-67of breast cancer. To reveal the biological behavior of the tumor by the dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging performance, and provide imaging reference for the evaluation of prognosis of the tumor and the clinical treatment of choice, so as to improve the application value of dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging in clinical diagnosis and treatment.Methods53cases of breast cancer with55lesions were reviewed, which underwent dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) examination. All patients underwent surgical and confirmed by pathology in our hospital from April2011to August2013. All patients were not performed radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment before examination and preoperative. The examination of Germany’s Siemens3.0T superconducting MRI included T1WI, T2WI, and dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI). On the one hand, we observed enhanced lesion morphological characteristics (tumor size, morphology edge), time signal intensity curve (TIC) type, enhancement pattern and early enhancement rate. On the other hand, we measured the molecular markers ER, PR, Her-2and Ki-67expression by immunohistochemical staining. We analyzed the correlation between DCE-MRI features and molecular biology markers in breast cancer. All data processed software by SPSS19.0, using non-parametric Spearman rank correlation test, P<0.05was considered statistically significant.Results(1) Tumor size was positively correlated with Ki-67positive expression (r0.279, P<0.05), but with the expression of ER, PR and Her-2no correlation (r=-0.027、-0.119、0.046, P>0.05), the greater the tumor, the higher Ki-67positive expression rate.(2) Tumor morphology was positively correlated with Her-2 positive expression (r=0.305, P<0.05), and significantly positively correlated with Ki-67positive expression (r=0.427, P<0.01),but with the expression of ER, PR no correlation (r=0.102,0.134,P>0.05), in the round, leaf shape and irregular lumps, its Her-2, Ki-67positive expression rate was higher in turn, lumps tend to leaf shape and irregular shape, the Her-2, Ki-67positive expression of lumps is higher.(3) Tumor edge was positively correlated with ER, PR positive expression (r=0.288,,0.294, P<0.05),but with the expression of Her-2, Ki-67no correlation (r=0.185,0.096, P>0.05),in irregular edges and burrs lumps, the positive expression rate of ER and PR is higher.(4) Tumor enhancement pattern was negatively correlated with PR positive expression (r=-0.282,P<0.05),but with the expression of ER, Her-2, Ki-67no correlation(r:0.198,-0.211、0.202, P>0.05),the more peripheral mass, the PR positive expression rate is lower.(5) TIC type was significantly positively correlated with Ki-67positive expression (r=0.358, P<0.01), but with the expression of ER, PR, Her-2no correlation (r:0.182、0.067、0.229, P>0.05) especially tend to TIC-Ⅲ, the positive expression rate of Ki-67is higher.(6) Early enhancement rate was positively correlated with Her-2positive expression(r=0.268, P<0.05), but with the expression of ER, PR,Ki-67no correlation (r:0.137,0.223,0.101, P>0.05), early enhancement rate is higher, the positive expressiong rate of Her-2is higher.ConclusionThere were some correlations between breast cancer morphological features (tumor size, morphology, edge), enhancement pattern, the type of time signal intensity curve, early enhancement rate on DCE-MRI and molecular biology markers. Dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging features can reflect the biologic behavior of breast cancer, which can provide reference for indirectly assessment of prognosis and clinical treatment planning.
