Clinical Study For The Treatment Of A Torn Meniscus Knee Osteoarthritis Through Arthroscopic Surgery Combined With Haitongpi Soup Fumigation Washing

ObjectiveCompare the clinical efficacy of two treatments regarding arthroscopic surgery or arthroscopic surgery combine with Haitongpi soup in treating meniscus rupture knee osteoarthritis (KOA).To provide a theoretical basis of arthroscopic surgery combined with Haitongpi soup fumigation treatment meniscus rupture KOA. Provide a new therapeutic approach for the treatment of meniscus rupture KOA. This will further promote the traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of KOA.Methods60cases of meniscus rupture KOA patients who meet criteria were selected from Guangzhou Orthopedic Hospital orthopedic knee department. Using the method of randomization,60cases were divided into two groups involving treatment group(30cases) and control group (30cases). The treatment group received a treatment of arthroscopic surgery combined with Haitongpi soup fumigation washing, and the control group only apply with arthroscopic surgery. After surgery, the two groups were given three months of same rehabilitation treatment. Stitches removed after10days of surgery. The treatment group began to received1month fumigation washing treatment after2weeks of surgery. Taken the regular follow-up, on before surgery, after2weeks, after6weeks, after12weeks of surgery. WOMAC points, VAS score were assessed by the signs and symptoms. Compare the efficacy of both groups before and after treatment, and compare the differences between the two groups after treatment.Result1. After treatment, comparative efficacy of two groups, P<0.01, statistically significant. Both groups were significantly improved after treatment. After treatment for6weeks,12weeks, comparison of the efficacy between the two groups, P<0.01, statistically significant. Treatment group better than the control group in efficacy. Evaluation criteria in terms of symptoms and signs, the treatment group have6cases cured,22cases markedly effective,2cases effective and0cases invalid. Remarkable efficiency of93.33%. The control group have2cases cured,20cases markedly effective,7cases effective and1cases invalid. Remarkable efficiency of73.33%. Comparison significant efficiency between two groups, P<0.05, statistically significant.2. Contrast on WOMAC points, the two groups have a biggest difference after12weeks treatment; Contrast on VAS score, improvement between the two groups after four weeks treatment have a biggest difference; Contrast on symptoms, signs evaluation standard,2cured patients in the control group patients,6cured patients in the treatment group patients. The cure rate was significantly higher in the treatment group patients. Therefore, arthroscopic treatment of meniscal rupture KOA, arthroscopic surgery treating meniscus rupture KOA is very effective. Pain (VAS score) most easily treated,but in the functional activities(WOMAC points),will be better improvement if combined with Haitongpi soup fumigation washing.ConclusionBoth treatments of arthroscopic surgery combined with Haitongpi soup fumigation washing or arthroscopic surgery only have good efficacysfor curing the meniscus rupture KOA. But arthroscopic surgery combined with Haitongpi soup fumigation washing have better efficacy.
