Objective:To explore the application value of three-dimensional CT (3D CT) in measurement of orbital volume after orbital blowout fracture.Methods:1. The orbital volumes of18skull samples (10males and8females) were measured by perfusion of sand hand,3D CT and orbital CT.2.The gexophthalmos, enophthahnos, orbital volume and the increased amount of orbital volume were measured by Hertel’s exophthalmometer, CT and3D CT in both normal and sick eyes after orbital blowout fracture.Results:1.The skull orbital volumes of CT and3D CT measurement were differences compared with the actual orbital volume (P<0.05), and the orbital volumes of3D CT was more similer with the actual orbital volumes.2. The degree of exophthalmos and enophthahnos measured by CT and3D CT was significantly highe than that of Hertel’s (P<0.05) in affected eyes of48cases. CT and3D CT was no statistical difference.3.The degree of orbital volume and volume of expansion was significant differences compared measured by CT and3D CT (P<0.05) in affected eyes of48cases.4. The results of analysis all of correlation parameter showed that the3D CT was more higher correlation in affected eyes of48cases.Conclusion:The CT and3D CT can be used to measure of orbital volume changes,and3D CT is a accurate and reliable method in measurement of orbital volume after orbital blowout fracture.
