Four instruments were employed for data collection. Demographic Information Sheet used to collect subject’s individual characteristics(including demographic information and the relative information of their affiliation); QSA designed to investigate such four aspects,F1:Understanding the nature of suicidal behavior;F2:Attitudes toward suicide victims; F3:Attitudes toward family;F4:Attitudes on euthanasia;USP designed to investigate the level of understanding on the patient’s suicide.Descriptive analysis, multiple linear stepwise regression and Pearson correlation analysis were performed using by the Statistical Package for Social Science(SPSS17.0).Results:(a)the overall level of suicide attitude on nurses is:understanding the nature of suicidal behavior as a neutral or ambivalent attitude, attitude toward suicide is affirmative, understanding or tolerance, attitude towards the families of suicide as a neutral or contradictory, attitude is contradictory or neutral for euthanasia. The total score of cognitive is34.21±5.19, it can be seen, the clinical nurses’awareness of Changsha is moderate level. (b)Univariate and regression analysis shows education, age, job title, level of hospitals,etc.12individual and hospitals characteristics have influence with the level of attitude, cognition to patient who suicide in varying degrees。(c)patient’s attitude, cognitive toward suicide show:understanding the nature of suicidal behavior (F1), the patient’s attitude toward suicide (F2) and attitudes of euthanasia (F4) all have influence on the nurses’ level of understanding to patients who suicide. Where the greatest impact is the nurse’s attitude towards suicide in patients (r=0.162),awareness of suicide in patients with minimal impact on the understanding of the nature of suicidal behavior (r=-0.118).2.Nurses’attitudes, cognition to suicide patients interact each other.3.We should improve nurses’attitudes, cognitive toward to suicide patients in Changsha in further.
