Objective:To learn the effect of olanzapine on β-CROSSL in Patients with Schizophreniaand to evaluate the possible influencing factors.Method:84schizophrenic patients aged18-40years old were included, they are divided two groups:44schizophrenic patients who have undertaken the monotherapy with olanzapine for at least half year,40first-episode schizophrenic patients who have never undertaken any antipsychotics. The demographic factors, clinical symtomswere examined and serum prolactin (PRL), triglyceride (TG), cholesterol (CHOL), high density lipoprotein (HDL), Low density lipoprotein (LDL), estradiol (E2),testosterone(TESTO), osteocalcin (BGP), β-CROSSL were measured for all the subjects.Results:(1) Compared with the first-episode schizophrenic group, β-CROSSL、CHOL、LDL、PRL and BMI are increased, E2and TESTOare decreased in Olanzapine group.(2) BMI, CHOL, LDL, E2and TESTO were negatively correlated with β-CROSSL (r=-0.244~-0.518, p<0.05),and BGP were positively correlated with β-CROSSL (r=0.461, p<0.01). multiple stepwise regression showed that the changes of β-CROSSL were determined by Olanzapine, sex, BMI,PRL,CHOL, TESTO and BGP (R2C=20.5%~31.5%).(3) In the female schizophrenic patients who have undertaken the monotherapy with olanzapine, BMI and E2were negatively correlated with β-CROSSL (r=-0.577,-0.348, respectively. p<0.01or p<0.05). while in the male schizophrenic patients, BMI, CHOL, LDL and TESTO were negatively correlated with β-CROSSL (r=-0.499--0.550, p<0.05),and PRL were positively correlated with β-CROSSL (r=0.528, p<0.05)Conclusion:(1) Olanzapine can elevated β-CROSSL、CHOL、LDL、PRL and BMI, reduce E2and TESTO; and PRL, lipid, sex hormone caninfluence the p-CROSSL rate.(2) Olanzapine had different influence between men and women. Elevated lipid and prolactin during treatment with antipsychotic drugs may be associated with a greater prevalence of increasing the P-CROSSL in men compared to women.
