Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of calcipotriolbetamethasone dipropionate ointment in the treatment of stable stagepsoriasis vulgaris patient. Methods: This was a randomized, parallel controlled clinical trials, which90patients with psoriasis vulgaris were randomly divided intoexperimental group and controlled group. All of them received4weeks oftreatment. We compared the efficacy and safety after treatment bycalcipotriol betamethasone dipropionate ointment in week1,2and4.Results: About the clinical efficacy, according to the decrease inpercentage of PASI (Psoriasis Area and Severity Index) were:23patients inthe experimental group were effective (efficacy rate is76.67%),14patientsin control group I was effective (efficacy rate is46.67%),15patients incontrol group II was effective (efficacy rate is50%). The differentiationbetween experimental group and the two control groups was significant(p1<0.05, p2<0.01). After the initial treatment in week1,2and4, thedecrease in percentage of PASI of experimental group is higher than that inthe control groups. The scores of the observed erythema, induration, andscale are decreased, and the total scores of PASI are also decreased4weeksafter therapy. The decrease score of experimental group is higher than thatof control group I (p1<0.01) and control group II (p2<0.01). The side effectsof the experimental group are mild such as itching, folliculitis, erythema, and the laboratory examinations had no abnormal changes. Conclusions: Calcipotriol betamethasone dipropionate ointment was moreeffective to treat the stable stage psoriasis vulgaris patients compared withsingle use of halometasone or calcipotriol.
