Objective:To design a type animal model of femoral fracture model merging spinal cord injury to study the fracture,which can maintain long time survival, and consistent with the clinical features, also be simple and easy.Methods:Forty-eight male SD rats were randomly divided into the simple femoral fracture group (group A,24rats), femoral fracture merging spinal cord injury group (group B,24rats), femoral fracture model caused by opening osteotomy to take transverse fracture and implant fixation in femoral, referencing Allen methed, using self-made blow device caused acute T10segment contusion of spinal cord injury in rats, combining the fracture model with the model of spinal cord injury can be success to manufacture femoral fracture model merging spinal cord injury. They were fed for4weeks under the same conditions, general investigation On two groups of SD rats at different time points after the success of the moulding, to observe the fracture stitution of healing when it’s time to4weeks and the complications, to calculate the model success rate.Results and Conclusion:Fracture with spinal cord injury animal mode after postoperative were all survived,whose double lower limbs were all loss of sensory and motor function,but can use double upper limbs slowly creeping forward. In the first3days, they are less eating and activity, with tail suspension at night there were no ischemia and necrosis of the limb fracture. Arrived at4weeks, group A were all survived except a anesthesia death, there were totaly4death at group B, the survival rate was83.33%, intramedullary fixation were not prolapse, this moment fracture whole had continuous bone callus formation, from the volume point of view, callus of B group was significantly higher than those in group A. The results demonstrated that combining the improved Allen method with small lateral incision open femoral osteotomy is simple and successfully, though the special nursing after operation, it’s successful to make the model survival to fourth weeks.
