Study On Evaluation And Improvement Of Economy Operational Efficiency Of DS Hospital Of Changsha

With the progress of society, the people’s aspiration of health is growing, medical and health have become increasingly demanding. But in the current status of our health care system is not recognized by the masses, although the health reform in China has been deepening, but "medical treatment is difficult and expensive," the problems still outstanding. Some hospitals in China over the past decades with the progress of society are rapidly expanding the scale. Hospital as an economic entity, have the presence of economies of scale phenomenon. Economic operation of hospital is more and more closely associated with its economies of scale and intensification. So, how to effectively assess and improve hospital efficiency of economic operation is a subject worthy of study.In this thesis, through scientific methods of analysis in Changsha DS hospital with the past10years medical workload, expenses/income, personnel, equipment, etc. Concluded that, DS hospital’s expansion should endeavor to comply optimal size as the basic principles, and should focus on quality and efficiency of development and refinement of information management. The empirical studies of the relationship of DS hospital’s scale and income have shown that:the number of beds, the value of fixed assets and the number of employees have significant impacts to per capita revenue and per capita cost of hospital visits, and have no significant impacts to average length of stay in hospital. The number of beds and the value of fixed assets have positive effect to per capita revenue and have negative effect to per capita cost of hospital visits. The number of employees has big negative effect to per capita revenue and has positive effect to per capita cost of hospital visits. The results of this thesis have important value of reference and guidance with hospital’s economies of scale analysis, control medical costs, improving efficiency in the use of medical resources and ultimately resolve our existing medical problems.
