| Covalently closed circular DNA (covalently closed circulardeoxyribonucleic acid, cccDNA) plays a crucial role in the persistentinfection of HBV. Nowadays there is no certain antiviral drug can eliminateHBV cccDNA effectively, so monitoring it can be helpful in evaluation ofantiviral therapy, determination course of treatment and forecast relapse. Asthe development of molecular biology, more and more mature methods areused in detecting HBV cccDNA. The current detection methods andclinical research progress of HBV cccDNA in chronic hepatitis B aresummarized here. |
