The Stasistic Method Of Incomplete Data With Application In Medical Research

Objective: To explore the methods of processing missing data andcensored data in the medical research and compare the applicability of Adhoc method, expectation maximization method(EM) and Markov ChainMonte Carlo method(MCMC) in processing the dataset with the missingvalues.Methods: The complete dataset with different missing rates weretreated by Ad hoc method,EM method and MCMC method and the resultswere compared with that of complete dataset by running SAS procedures．Results: Ad hoc method works well as missing rate is less than5％，and MCMC method is a better choice as missing rate between5％and40％，whereas missing rate is up to50％，these methods above are notappropriate．Conclusion: With datasets of different missing rate, Ad Hoc methodand MCMC method have their own advantages and disadvantages．Thecalculation results of EM method are slightly worse than MCMC method.
