Background The relation between sleep disordered breathing(SDB)and cardiac arrhythmia is well established, but the association betweenSDB in ICD patients is not clear. Therefore, we conducted a systematicreview to evaluate the relationship between sleep disordered breathing andappropriate implantable cardioverter defibrillator therapy. Methods and Results We searched Medline, Pubmed, EMbase,Cochrane Library、CNKI、Wanfang and VIP database for studies publisheduntil February2014, some conference proceedings also were included. We identified5relevant studies with a total533patients that met ourinclusion criteria.Overall, patients with SDB had a28%risk ofappropriate ICD therapy during1year follow up(RR1.28,95%CI1.01-1.62). Subgroup analysis (patients with SDB had no relation withappropriate ICD therapy during2year follow up) showed no statisticalsignificance (RR1.25,95%CI0.96-1.63P=0.337).Conclusions Patients with SDB have significantly association withappropriate ICD therapy than those without SDB during1year follow,not2year.
