The Research Of Prescription And Syndrome Of Xiao Xian Xiong Decoction

Objective：The treatise of xiao xian xiong decoction is too brief in the book Shanghan lun, as a famous decoction of Zhang zhong jing,it has experienced thousands oftimes of clinical application and research. In order to uncover the law of theapplication of this decoction, It is necessary to organize and summarize the thosetheories of this decoction and syndromes of Xiao Jie Xiong essentially,which providesa basis for clinical application.Methods：On the basis of collecting data extensively, all the datas were classified intoseveral parts according to different types: data of prescriptions and comments on xiaoxian xiong decoction、data of clinical application and that of pharmacologicalexperiments, hoping to organize and summarize the decoction and syndromes of XiaoJie Xiong by using the method of context interpretation and frequency data statistics,1）The original text was analysed sentence by sentence and we explored somequestions such as the diseased region "under the heart"、feeling pain after beingtouched ect. We also distinguished the difference among Jie Xiong、visceral bind andstuffiness,by comparing the different data of prescriptions and comments on xiaoxian xiong decoction from different ancient doctors,we hope to summarize thosecharacteristics of xiao xian xiong decoction;2）We hope to know about the diseasespectrum、syndromes、drug dosage and the clinical change of different herbalmedicines by analysing the data of clinical application;3） The data ofpharmacological experiments can provide functional evidence of xiao xian xiongdecoction;4）we summarized the clinical experience of our tutor corresponding to theclinical researchs.Results：1. The basis pathogenesis of xiao xian xiong decoction: Intermingled phlegmand heat underneath the heart;2. The effect of xiao xian xiong decoction: clearingheat、eliminating phlegm and eliminating stagnation;3. The disease spectrum: xiaoxian xiong decoction can not only be used for the disease of xiao jie xiong which havelots of clinical syndromes but also others illnesses;4.Main symptoms: Chest tightness、Bloating、stomachache、cough、nausea and vomiting、chest pain、Painin ribs ect, we can use those secondary symptoms as a reference like bitter taste、drymouth(unwilling to drink)、fatigue、insomnia、acid reflux ect；5. Xiao xian xiongdecoction has been mainly applied to the digestive system,such as chronic gastritis、chronic and acute cholecystitis、 reflux esophagitis ect; those diseases ofcardiovascular system such as coronary heart disease、angina pectoris ect；thosediseases of respiratory system such as chronic and acute bronchitis、bronchial asthmaect；and others diseases caused by Intermingled phlegm and heat which belong toothers systems；6. The tongue coating and pulse condition: red tongue、greasy fur、yellow fur、Stringy pulse、slippery pulse or rapid pulse;7. General condition:①Gender: The male to female ratio is1.46:1,that is, the majority of the patients aremen,②Those people whose age is among41-50or51-60are more easy to get theillness of "xiao jie xiong",the proportion of the two groups accounts for59.59percent；8. Based on the different symptoms of patients,the basic prescription of xiaoxian xiong decoction is often be added with herbal medicine for regulating QI flow、tonifying herbal medicine(especially herbs for tonifying Qi)、herbal medicine forinvigorating blood circulation and eliminating stasis、herbal medicine for resolvingphlegm and relieving cough or relieving asthma、heat-clearing herbal medicine anddamp dispersing herbs ect, specifically speaking,the most commonly used herbalmedicine are fructus aurantii immaturus、fructus aurantii、curcumae、Radix Bupleuri、rheum officinale、salvia miltiorrhiza、Bamboo Shavings、official Magnolia、Poriacocos、Cape jasmine、Scutellaria baicalensis、almond Almond、Tangerine Peel ect.Conclusion：The basis pathogenesis of xiao xian xiong decoction is intermingledphlegm and heat underneath the heart because of the invasion of the exteriorpathogenic factors into the interior、therapeutic errors for curing disease caused byexogenous pathogenic factor and heat invagination. The xiao xian xiong decoctioncan also be used when the pathological situation "intermingled phlegm and heatunderneath the heart" was resulted by other causes, clearing heat、eliminating phlegmand eliminating stagnation are basic effects of xiao xian xiong decoction, the xiaoxian xiong decoction can be applied to different systematic diseases if we have a deep knowledge of the basis pathogenesis and basic effect of this decoction.
