Background: China is one of the world’s continents in areas of high incidence of NPC. Due to the deeper parts of the nasopharynx, and near many important blood vessels and nerves around the nasopharynx, cervical lymph nodes and distant metastasis high rate, making the surgery is limited, currently recognized as an effective treatment for nasopharyngeal carcinoma is radiotherapy. Early nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients with radiotherapy alone have better results, in patients with advanced due to the higher local recurrence rates and distant metastasis rates lead to decreased overall survival.Concurrent chemotherapy as a comprehensive treatment way, has become a routine treatment for nasopharyngeal carcinoma. In this paper, the current research progress of nasopharyngeal concurrent radiotherapy and chemotherapy were reviewed. Objective: The purpose of this study was to in nasopharyngeal carcinoma concurrent radiotherapy and chemotherapy by reading literature in recent years, from in nasopharyngeal carcinoma concurrent chemoradiotherapy theoretical basis for clinical advantages, radiotherapy and chemotherapy concurrent radiotherapy in progress, the progress of chemotherapy concurrent radiotherapy and chemotherapy in sync the side effects of chemotherapy and other aspects to explore this clinical advantages and defects comprehensive treatment to further enhance the comprehensive treatment of such knowledge, to seek the best combination of clinical treatment, hoping to better improve patient survival and prognosis. Methods: Use CNKI, Wan Fang data base, Pubmed, use the "Nasopharyngeal carcinoma; Radiotherapy; Three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy; Intensity modulated radiotherapy; Image-guided radiotherapy; Volumetric intensity-modulated radiotherapy; concurrent chemoradiotherapy" doing for keywords, respectively, and combined to retrieve documents. Comprehensive analysis of 52 research purposes consistent with literature. Results: Large number of clinical studies show that concurrent chemoradiotherapy in the treatment of Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma has unparalleled advantages, most of the literature show that it can improve local control and overall survival, reduce distantmetastasis, reduce the recurrence, although increased toxicity, However, most patients still tolerated. Conclusion: Concurrent chemoradiotherapy shows unparalleled advantage in the treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, because of the advances in radiotherapy techniques and chemotherapy drugs more and more emerging, concurrent chemoradiotherapy has opened up broad prospects, but still lacks a standard concurrent chemoradiotherapy_ mode, how to further improve the clinical efficacy of concurrent chemoradiotherapy and reduce the toxic effects, to further improve the quality of patients’ life and prognostic, still need more large samples clinical Experimental.
