Objective To investigate the distribution characteristics of related clinical and pathological data of pulmonary metastases from colorectal cancer. Methods A retrospective analysis of all the colorectal cancer cases in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University was done, from January 2011 to December 2014,41 pulmonary metastases in 1601 cases of colorectal cancer were detected. The clinical and pathological data of these pulmonary metastasis was analyzed statistically. Results The incidence rate of pulmonary metastases from colorectal cancer was 2.56%, and 27 cases were male and 14 cases were female. The age of pulmonary metastases from colorectal cancer was from 38 to 76 years old,the median age was 58 years old. The cases of pulmonary metastases and the transfer rate increased with age, the top point was the 60-69 age group, then gradually decline. In recent years, the pulmonary metastases cases and the incidence rate is on rise. The ethnic constituent ratio of pulmonary metastases groups is almost the same with the resident population. The chance of pulmonary metastases, people who long lived in the countryside was greater than the urban population. Almost all the male pulmonary metastasis patients had a long history of smoking, and the preoperative carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) level was positive. Colorectal primary position with the rectal most, the next was followed by sigmoid colon, ascending colon, transverse colon and descending colon. Tubular adenocarcinoma was the most Primary pathological type, and there were papillary adenocarcinoma and mucous adenocarcinoma. Pulmonary metastasis parts:unilateral in 26 cases,15 cases on both sides; Number:isolated 23 cases,18 cases of multiple; the maximum diameter of pulmonary metastases:>4 cm 26 cases,,15 cases were <4 cm.33 cases of pulmonary metastasis with liver metastasis at the same time, accounted for 80.50%(33/41). All patients with colorectal cancer had chest X-ray findings, the rate of CT examination was 75.89%(1215/1601).After chest CT scan examination,41 cases were positive results. The misdiagnosis rate of chest X-ray was 51.22%(21/41). The misdiagnosis rate of chest X-ray and CT examination rate was significantly higher from 2012 and maintained at a certain level. Conclusion Pulmonary metastases from colorectal cancer may be related to gender, age, smoking history and preoperative level of CEA(carcinoembryonic antigen). The most common primary position of lung metastases from colorectal cancer is the rectum. Tubular adenocarcinoma is the most primary pathological type. There is no obvious difference in the distribution of the lung metastases’number, positions, maximum diameter and hilus pulmonis or mediastinal lymph node metastasis. The lung metastases detection rate of chest computed tomography (CT) is more significantly increased than the chest X-ray. It is necessary to take chest computed tomography as routine inspection to be more perfect preoperative assessment.
