Objective:To investigate the clinical and endoscopic features of eos-inophilic gastroenteritis (EG), analyzes the main causes of misdiagnosed, for the object to improve the level of clinical diagnosis and treatment.Methods:24 patients with EG were collected in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University during the period from 2004 to 2-014. These data of the patient’s medical history, clinical manifestations, la-boratory examination, imaging features, endoscopic and pathological feature s, diagnosis and differential diagnosis, treatment were retrospectively analyz-ed.Results:8 cases (33.3%) of this group had allergic history, The most common clinical presentation in EG patients was the symptoms of indiges tion, such as abdominal pain (75%), abdominal distension (38.1%), weight loss (45.1%). Some of them accompanied with ascites and pancreatitis. Per-ipheral blood from 70.7% of EG showed eosinophil count increased, ascite s showed a large amount of eosinophilic cell. The lesion were common lo-cated in gastricantrum, duodenum and ileum. The endoscopic examination revealed mucosal erosion, hyperemia, edema, erythema and mucosal thickeni- ng.Pathology showed large numbers of eosinophils infiltration. Glucocortico-id therapy on symptoms improved rapidly and effectively, peripheral blood eosinophil percentage could resume normal value. Conclusion:The clinical features and endoscopic findings of the EG patients had no specific, for lacking awareness of understanding of EG in clinical diagnosis and treatment, It is easy to be misdiagnosed. Peripheral blood, bone marrow and ascites EOS count is of great important reference significance for the diagnosis of EG, endoscopic mucosal biopsy of numer-ous eosinophils abnormal infiltration is the key to diagnosis of EG, endosco-pic multiple sites biopsy is helpful to improve the diagnostic rate.
