Objective: In order to provide evidence for treatment of The excessive accumulation of phlegm-dampness of cervical vertigo by comparing the curative effect of The cardinal symptom between the experienced prescription “Radix glehniae Wendan decoction” derived from Professor Tang zhenjiang and Difenidol hydrochloride tablets. Methods:We divided 60 patients of excessive accumulation of phlegm-dampness of cervical vertigo into two groups which were recruited treatment group(Radix glehniae Wendan decoction group) and control group(Difenidol hydrochloride group) randomly. In the process, we observed and calculated the difference of efficacy, the ESCV score at pretherapy, during the one course as Fourteen days and the two courses as twenty-eight days.Results:1.The analyzed of clinical curative effect:After one course, results of 30 patients of treatment group, 3 recovery,12 improved very well,11 a little and 4 no response;30 patients of control group, 1 recovery,4 improved very well,15 a little and 10 no response. The total effective rate of treatment group(86.67%),compared with the control group(66.67%) had statistical significance(P<0.05).After two course, results of 27 patients of treatment group, 7 recovery,13 improved very well,6 a little and 1 no response;25 patients of control group, 2 recovery,7 improved very well,8 a little and 8 no response. The total effective rate of treatment group(96.30%),compared with the control group(68.00%)had statistical significance(P<0.05).2.The contrast of ESCV score:Contrasted the ESCV score between treatment group and control group, there was no significant difference at pretherapy(P>0.05),was statistical significance at one course(P<0.05), and extremely significant difference between two courses(P<0.01).3.The Comparative Analysis about each index of ESCV score:The each index of ESCV score of treatment group and control group at one course and two courses were all increased distinctly, there was significant difference about the improvement of vertigo between pretherapy and post-treatment(P<0.05),which was also found Between the two groups(P<0.05),But has no significant difference between one course and two courses(P>0.05).This showed that in such aspects as improvement of vertigo, the curative effect of treatment group is better than the control group.compared with the control group had extremely significant difference. Conclusions:Two drug can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of patients of excessive accumulation of phlegm-dampness of cervical vertigo. In such aspects as improvement of vertigo, headache, common life and daily work, the curative effect of treatment group is better than the control group. And which were further improved at two courses. This suggested the efficacy of Radix glehniae Wendan decoction was significant.
