Objective To acquire the information of M1 and M2 tumor-associated macrophages’distribution among gastric cancer nests, peri-cancerous tissue, normal tissue, metastatic lymph node and no metastatic lymph node; To analyze the relationship of M1 and M2 among metastatic lymph nodes and prognosis. Method 1 To collect the 50 patients’data implemented the radical surgery of gastric cancer from Jan.2007 to Dec.2008.2, adopts the immunohistochemistry SP method to detect the CD68 and CD163’s expression among the cancer tissues, peri-cancerous tissue, normal gastric tissue, metastatic lymph nodes and non-metastatic lymph nodes of 50 patient cases;2 Analyzes the relation between the infiltration of M1 and M2 in cancer tissues and lymphatic metastasis;3 Analyzes the relationship between the infiltration of M1 and M2 in cancer tissues and staging;4 Analyzes the relationship between macrophage infiltration of patients’cancer tissues and prognosis in the same stage (ⅢA period).5 Analyzes the proportion of M2 macrophages in no metastatic lymph nodes of cancerometastasis group (A group) and in lymph nodes of all no cancerometastasis group (B group). Result 1 The result demonstrates that the CD68 positive cell mainly distributes among the surrounding of gastric cancer tissues, space between cancer cells, peri-cancerous tissue, the surrounding of blood vessel, the cancer nests of metastatic lymph nodes and cancer tissues of metastatic lymph nodes. The CD 163 positive cell mainly distributes among the surrounding of gastric cancer tissues, space between cancer cells, between cancer interstitial, the surrounding of blood vessel, the cancer nests of metastatic lymph nodes and cancer tissues of metastatic lymph nodes.2 Compared with the no cancerometastasis group, the proportion of M2 macrophages in the gastric cancer tissues of cancerometastasis group is higher (p<0.05);3 The proportion of M1 macrophages in the gastric cancer tissues of Ⅰ period is much higher than Ⅱ period and Ⅲ period. The proportion of M2 macrophages in the gastric cancer tissues of Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ periods increase successively.4 In the gastric cancer tissues of patients in ⅢA period, patients can survive longer in the high proportion of M1 group, compared with low proportion of M1 group (p<0.05). Patients with high proportion of M2 group carries the worse prognosis, compared with low proportion of M2 group (p<0.05).5 The proportion of M2 macrophages has a significant increase in the no metastatic lymph node of cancerometastasis group, compared with no cancerometastasis group (p<0.01). Conclusion TAM might get involved into the cancerometastasis of lymph node, mainly influenced by M2 macrophages. The stage is later with the increase of M2 macrophages’proportion in cancer tissues The patients who have common stage have the better prognosis with the increase of M1 macrophages’ proportion in cancer tissues, while have the worse prognosis with the increase of M2 macrophages’proportion in cancer tissues.
