The Study Of Correlation Between Addiction, Personality And Family Environment Of Male Voluntary Addicts Of Heroin

ObjectiveTo find out the characteristics of personality and family environment of male voluntary addicts of heroin by comparing to the normal, and try to further understand the relationship among personality, family environment and addiction in order to find out the forecast factors to provide a theoretical basis for clinical drug workers, rich content addictive behavioral psychology.MethodsIntegrated use of:(1) literature research:access to relevant literature from Chinese Biomedical Literature Database(CBM), Chinese Journal Full-text Database (CNKI)and Pud Med, reading research survey about drug addicts, personality and family environment. (2)the questionnaire:using Cartel 16 Personality factor Questionnaire, family Environment Scale Chinese version and heroin craving questionnaire. (3)interview:interviewing heroin addicts and related medical staff to determine the basic information. (4) statistical analysis:establishing a database and use chi-square test, t-test, correlation analysis, regression analysis and other appropriate statistical analysis approaches.Results(1)In terms of personality, the male voluntary addicts of heroin have lower score on intelligence, stability, excitement, responsibility and self-discipline than the normal population (P<0.01), and they have a higher score on suspicion, anxiety, independence, tension than the normal population (P<0.01); (2) In terms of the home environment, comparing with the normal, the male voluntary addicts of heroin have lower score on intimacy, emotional expression, conflict, independence, success, knowledge sexual, religious ethics, organizational than the normal population (P<0.01), while have higher score on Contradiction(P<0.01). (3) There is a significant correlation between drug craving and personality. It shows that there is significantly positive correlation among drug craving and anxiety, drug tendency and intelligent, skeptical and tension, drug desire and anxiety, effect expectation and stabi-lity, anxiety, self-control and dominance, brave (P<0.05);and it also shows that there is significantly negative correlation among drug craving and openness, drug tendency and responsibility, effect expectation and self-cont-rol, sensitivity, the sense of self-control and tension. (P<0.05)。(4) There is a significant correlation between drug craving and family environment. It shows there is significantly negative correlation among drug caving and Cohesion, drug tendency and Intellectual-Cultural Orientation, drug desire and Cohesion, active-recreational orientation, effect expectation and active-recreational orientation. (P<0.05) (5) Regression results show that cohesion and active-recreational orientation can forecast drug caving (R2=0.127, F (2,112)=8.179, P<0.01); intellectual-cultural orientation, anxiety and responsibility can forecast drug tendency(R2=0.214,F(3,111)=10.048,P<0.01); active-recreational orientation, cohesion and control can forecast drug desire (R2=0.136,F(3,111)=5.806, P<0.01); active-recreational orientation, sensitivity, anxiety, gregariousness, stability moral and religious views can forecast effect expectation (R2=0.235, F(6,109)=5.542, P<0.01); control can forecast self-control (R2=0.054, F (1,113)=6.404, P<0.05)Conclusion(1)In terms of personality, male heroin addicts have a relatively slow thinking, emotional irritability, apathy reticent, lack of accountability and law-abiding spirit, to the outside world with high suspicion, anxiety, depre-ssion, maverick, nervous and so on. (2) Male heroin addicts lack support and help from their family. Direct expression of emotions and conflicts between family members is deficiency for male heroin addicts. They seldom participate in social activities together. In addition, male heroin addicts have inade-quate attention to values and the sense of accomplishment. (3)Drug craving of male voluntary addicts of heroin are correlated between Personality and family environment, and some Factors of them can forecast drug craving.
