| ObjectiveInvestigate the correlation between masturbation and Ⅲ A chronic prostatitis (ⅢA CP) and asymptomatic inflammatory prostatitis (AIP). In order to find certain degree or specific value of laws ejaculation, masturbation or sexual intercourse, and tentatively set specific boundary value of the excessive masturbation.It can be used to provide reference of the prevention, treatment and sex guide for prostatitis.MethodsWe use self-designed questionnaire to investigate and record among 262 cases that had been diagnosed with prostatitis (ⅢA CP and AIP) in the urology clinic of the first affiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine during May 2014 to February 2015. As control group 255 healthy men in health examination center of the same hospital had taken the survey in the same period.The survey included the time of first wet dream and masturbation, average frequency of masturbation every week during the most frequent years, the maximum number of times in a week, the maximum number of times in a day, the total number of weekly average ejaculations, frequency of traps and interrupt ejaculation, frequency of clean after ejaculation and exercise, NIH-CPSI and TCM symptom score sheet. After all data collection, collation and input computer, we use T test for measurement data and Rank sum test for count data by SPSS 19.0 Statistical software.ResultsReceived a total of 517 valid questionnaires which include case group 262 cases,255 cases in the control group. Case group 262 cases, the minimum age is 16 years, the maximum is 49 years, average age was 29.72±8.104 years old. In the control group with 255 cases, the youngest is 15 years old, the oldest is 49 years old, with an average age was 30.61±8.159 years old. Weight measurement: the case group’s minimum weight is 45 kg, maximum is 85 kg,64.61±10.151 kg on average. In the control group,the minimum weight is 43 kg, the maximum is 85 kg, with an average is 63.94±10.304 kg.Height measurements:the minimum Height in case group and the control group are all 155cm, the same maximum is 187cm. Case group’s average height is 168.16±5.504 cm. The mean height of the control group is 168.35±5.554 cm. Comparison in the age, weight, height, t test(P> 0.05), the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant.The first time of Emission,262 cases of patients had interviewed, younger than 13 years old is 35(13.36%),14 to 16 years old is 170(64.9%) cases,17 to 19 year-old accounting for 51 cases(19.5%),20 to 25 years old is 6(2.3%). In the control group of respondents,there are 27(10.59%) cases of the initial emission age is 13 years old or less,14 to 16 years old about 161 cases, accounting for 63.14%,56 (21.96%) cases is 17 to 19 years,only about 4.14% is 20 to 25 years. Groups do Rank sum test,P is greater than 0.05, not statistically significant. Description of the age about the first time of emission between two groups has no significant difference.In the question of The first masturbation age,262 cases of patients,13 years or less has 15 cases (5.73%),14 to 16 years has 106 cases (40.46%),17 to 19 years has 65 patients (24.81%), first time occur in college has 76 cases (29.01%). A total of 255 cases in the control group,= 13-year-old has 10 cases (3.92%),14 to 16 years old has 106 cases,17 to 19 years old has 79 cases (30.98%), a total of 60 cases (23.53%) in 20 to 25 years. Comparing the two groups, the difference was not statistically significant (Z, P> 0.05). It means that The age of the first time about emission compare during two groups was no significant difference.Question about the Frequency of Traps and Interrupt ejaculation,26 cases (9.92%,26/262) as the "basic every time", "Most have" has 70 cases (26.72%,70/262), "Occasional" has 76 cases(29.01%,76/262), "Few" has 42 cases(15.79%,42/262),"Little or no" has 48 cases(18.32%,48/262).A total of 255 cases in the control group,3 cases (1.18%,3/255) as the "basic every time", "Most have" has 9 cases(3.53%,9/255), "Occasional" has 114 cases(44.71%,114/255), "Few" has 60 cases(23.53%,60/255), "Little or no" has cases(27.06%,69/255). The Frequency of Traps and Interrupt ejaculation of the case group and control group by Rank sum test both difference is significant (Z, P< 0.001).Question about average frequency of masturbation every week during the most frequent years, the case group and control group by Rank sum test both difference is significant (P< 0.001). In the case group,2 to 4 times/month has 42 case(16.03%),5 to 8 times/month has 91(34.73%), greater than or equal 12 times/month has 103 case(39.31%), About once a day has 16 case (6.11%), more than once a day has 10 case (3.82%). In the control group,2 to 4 times/month has 75 case(29.41%),5 to 8 times/month has 119(46.67%), greater than or equal 12 times/month has 47 case(18.43%), About once a day has 9 case (3.53%),more than once a day has 5 case (1.96%).Question about the maximum number of times in a day of masturbation, the case group and control group by Rank sum test both difference is significant (P< 0.001). In the case group,1 time has 115 case (43.89%),2 times has 88 case(33.59%),3 times has 41case(15.62%),4 times has 13 case(4.96%), Greater than or equal 5 times has 5 case(1.91%). In the control group,1 time has 151 case(59.21%),2 times has 90 case(35.29%),3 times has 9 case(3.53%),4 times has 4 case(1.57%), Greater than or equal 5 times has 1 case(0.39%).Question about the maximum number of times in a week of masturbation, the case group and control group by Rank sum test both difference is significant (P< 0.001). In the case group,1 time has 28 case(10.69%),2 times has 67 case (25.27%),3 times has 66 case (25.19%),4 times has 23 case (8.78%),5 times has 36 case(13.74%),6 times has 12 case(4.58%),7 times has 15 case(5.73%),8 times has 12 case(4.58%),10-12 times has 3 case. In the control group,1 time has 65 case(25.49%),2 times has 76 case(29.80%),3 times has 55 case(21.57%),4 times has 35 case(13.72%),5 times has 11 case(4.31%),6 times has 3 case(1.18%),7 times has 7 case(2.75%),8’v12times has 3case(1.18%).Question about the maximum number of times in a week of masturbation, the case group and control group by Rank sum test both difference is significant (P< 0.001). In the case group,1 time has 28 case(10.69%),2 times has 67 case(25.27%),3 times has 66 case(25.19%),4 times has 23 case(8.78%),5 times has 36 case(13.74%),6 times has 12 case(4.58%),7 times has 15 case(5.73%),8 times has 12 case (4.58%),10～12 times has 3 case. In the control group,1 time has 65 case(25.49%),2 times has 76 case(29.80%),3 times has 55 case(21.57%),4 times has 35 case(13.72%),5 times has 11 case(4.31%),6 times has 3 case(1.18%),7 times has 7 case(2.75%),8-12times has 3case(1.18%).Question about average frequency of ejaculation by Masturbation in a day, the case group and control group by Rank sum test both difference is significant (P< 0.001). In the case group,1 time has 115 case (43.89%), Occasionally 2 times has 87 case(33.21%), often 2 times has 13 case(4.96%), Occasionally 3 times has 47 case(17.94%). In the control group,1 time has 150 case(58.82%), Occasionally 2 times has 84 case(32.94%), often 2 times has 12 case(4.71%),Occasionally 3 times has 9 case(3.53%).Question about the frequency of clean after ejaculation and of urinate after ejaculation within 1 hour, the case group and control group by Rank sum test difference is not significant (P>0.05).Question about the frequency of exercise, the case group and control group by Rank sum test both difference is significant(P< 0.001). In the case group, respondents were significantly less exercise than control group’s, substantially no exercise even no motion accounted 59.54%, occasionally movements only 23.67%.The scores of CPSI, include CPSI-Pain and discomfort scores, PSI-Urinary discomfort score, CPSI-Symptom severity score, CPSI-Quality of life scores, in different TCM Syndrome type, by ANOVA test difference is not significant (P > 0.05).ConclusionAbout the problem:the frequency of traps and interrupt ejaculation, average frequency of masturbation every week during the most frequent years, the maximum number of times in a day and in a week of masturbation, average frequency of ejaculation by masturbation in a day, the patients who with Inflammatory chronic pelvic pain syndrome or Asymptomatic inflammatory prostatitis was significantly higher than the normal population. Patients do exercise.Significantly less than normal population.On the frequency of clean after ejaculation and of urinate after ejaculation within 1 hour issue, there was no significant difference between the two groups. Excessive masturbation is a risk factor of Chronic Prostatitis. We define that more than or equal to 3 times in one day or total number more than or equal to 5 times within one week is excessive masturbation. |
