In modern society, human spend more and more time indoor. Artificial lighting can make up for lack of natural light to the vision needs. After the third kind of photoreceptor cells in the retina—the retinal ganglion photoreceptor cells were found in 2002, the biological effects of light is getting more attention, and has new explanation and development. Impact of light on human beings is not only the visual effect, but also has important non-visual biological effects. Light regulates many non-visual biological effects such as the human circadian rhythms, body temperature, heart rate and melatonin production. Lighting is not simply making sure of human’s vision; it’s closely related to human’s health.Based on the analysis of non-visual biological effects of light, existing achievements of related research are summarized, and light illumination evaluation based on the biological effects are discussed in this paper. At the same time, the LED, as a new generation of light source, is gradually applied into the field of general lighting. It has become the important research direction in the field of lighting. Based on the benefit that LED is easy to be digitized controlled, LED lighting can be regulated according to the human body’s demand for healthy lighting. With the design, the main factors of lighting which have the non-visual biological effects, such as spectrum and chromaticity, can be controllable. This article according to the application of LED lighting technology designs the healthy and intelligent lighting system. In this paper, the main research contents and work are as follows:First of all, we set up the experimental system to test the natural daylight spectral distribution, according to the Circadian rhythm factor (Circadian Stimulus) evaluation model to analyze the daylight’s biological effects. CS value of natural daylight is between 0.34 to 0.41. Also, and we have several typical light sources tested for CS value. Then design the subjective experiment to analyze the effects of light on human circadian rhythms. The results show that the specific pattern of lighting can make human circadian rhythms have different phase shift.After analyzing the impact of light on human circadian rhythms, we design the intelligent and healthy lighting.The design of optical part is determined by Tracepro. Light source is consists of three LED channel, which have different spectrum and chromaticity, can has different lighting model of different color temperature or dynamic lighting, in order to meet the requirements of healthy lighting. In addition, we design an Android application for mobile devices to control the lighting through WIFI.
