Objective:To evaluate the clinical value of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) combine with transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) in prostate biopsy. Methods:From March of 2012 To November of 2013.214 people were divided into two groups according to the different detection methods.in group A were accepted to a TRUS guided transrectal prostate biopsy(N=121),meanwhile the Patients in group B were accepted to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)and TRUS guided transrectal prostate biopsy(n=93) to underwent TRUS in our hospital. Both group A and group B were divided into 3 subgroups according to the prostate specific antigen PSA<10μg/ml,10μg/ml< PSA<20μg/ml and PSA>20μg/ml. To respectively TRUS alone and MRI combined with TRUS positioning the diagnosis rate of prostate biopsy. Results:The diagnostic rate of patients with PSA<10μg/ml,10μg/ml≤PSA<20 UG/ ml and PSA>20μg/ml were12.1%,22.2%,67.3% in group A, and 36.3%,46.4%,79.1%in group B, there is a significant difference in the group of patients with PSA<10 UG/ml (x2= 4.548, P<0.05) and group of patients with 10μg/ml< PS A<20μg/ml(χ2= 4.186, P<0.05).Conclusion:For patients with PSA<20μg/ml, MRI and TRUS jointly guided transrectal prostate biopsy was recommended to improve the diagnosis of benign and malignant prostate lesions in both Han and Uighur in Xinjiang.
