Objective: Using Three-dimensional Printing methods, rapid prototyping Alginate-Sintered-Bone scaffold which has well three-dimensional structures and mechanical properties for bone tissue engineering. Methods: Completely remove sheep cortical bone and cutting the bone to triangular pyramid which side length ranging from 0.4cm to 0.7cm. Physical and chemical methods were used to the preparation of calcined bone, pulverized and disinfect the bone. Formulate 4%wt gel of sodium alginate.Three-dimensional spiral CT scan the sheep mandible and obtain the data of 3d model, importing DICOM data into Mimics software to construct the STL format data, import STL data into Geomagic software, extracting the shape of the mandible, useing offset options to get cortical bone of the model.Use Catia software, adjust the model size, build internal monomer model of the scaffold and then change the monomer model, establish the required overall scaffold model.Convert the STL file into G codes which is identifiable by 3D printer and exporting G codes to the printer.Mix the bone meal and sodium alginate gel, using RP technology to obtain ALG- CB scaffold for bone tissue engineering. Results: Successfully established the required 3D-model of bone tissue engineering and successfully printed out the scaffold which can be used for bone tissue engineering. Conclusion: Based on computer-aided design and manufacturing technology, useing 3D printer and biodegradable materials(sodium alginate gel and calcined bone meal) can rapid prototyping scaffold which has desired shape for bone tissue engineering.
