ObjectiveTo evaluate the nutritional status and sarcopenia of population in Jinzhou area, our research investigated skeletal muscle content and the fat content in healthy adult of the Han nationality in Jinzhou area and obtained the characteristics of skeletal muscle content and the fat content and the age trend of the population distribution, according to the skeletal muscle index calculation and the preliminary determination of sarcopenia.MethodIn the case of informed consent, according to cluster random sampling method, a random sample of 1081(male 394, female 687) from 20 to 80 years Han healthy volunteers in Jinzhou area from were selected as the research object. Height was measured by using Martin Grohe. Weight, skeletal muscle content and the fat content by using bioelectrical impedance measurement. Then we go through the skeletal muscle index calculation and the preliminary determination of sarcopenia according to the method recommended by European Working Group on Sarcopenia in Older People(EWGSOP). Data were input SPSS20.0 statistical software to proceed t test, variance analysis and other statistical methods. There was statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Result1. Body muscle content and trunk muscle content in men were higher than women in each age group, with significant gender difference(P < 0.05); Body fat content and trunk fat content of only men in 50 ~, 60 ~ lower than women, with a significant gender difference(P < 0.05), and no gender differences in other different age groups.2. In the comparison of different age groups in muscle content and fat content of the body, trunk and limbs, upper and lower limbs, left and right side of upper and lower limbs, except for fat content in lower limbs of men, there were all age differences(P < 0.05). While the women were all age differences(P < 0.05).3. According to the results of Skeletal Muscle Reducing Type I, all samples were divided into muscle reducing group and normal group, the comparison of these two groups showed: body fat content of men in 50~ was no significant difference(P > 0.05), while body fat contents of other groups of men and women in each age groups were significant difference(P < 0.05). According to the different skeletal muscle index in each age group of Han nationality in Shanghai area and Jinzhou area, we found that the index of the Han nationality in Jinzhou area is slightly higher than that in Shanghai, and the quality standard of skeletal muscle decreasing are different in each region and are different in different species.Conclusion1.Gender and age are important factors affecting the skeletal muscle content and fat content.2.The skeletal muscle index values of the healthy young Han population in Jinzhou area is 8.67±0.83 kg/m2 in men and 6.58±0.52 kg/m2 in women, the determination of skeletal muscle mass reducing should take the differences of areas and races into account.3. Levels of obesity may be an important factor affecting on sarcopenia.
