In the central nervous system, oligodendrocytes is a kind of package in the neuronal axons of myelin sheath of nerve cells, after spinal cord injury, most of the oligodendrocytes and neuronal necrosis, then a large number of astrocyte proliferation form glial scar. Glial scar will prevent neurons to repair and restoration of myelin. We want to investigate the OPC after spinal cord injury, how to participate in self repair after spinal cord injury. And through the transplant oligodendrocytes precursor cells to treat spinal cord injury, found that most of the oligodendrocytes precursor to differentiate into astrocytes in the body, we hypothesized that after spinal cord injury, the body environment changed, may produce some of the factors, impact oligodendrocytes precursor to differentiate into astrocytes. We through the PDGFRa- creER/Rosa- td- tTomato mice as the research object, PDGFRa as a sign of oligodendrocytes precursor proteins, after tomato markers, study after spinal cord injury, oligodendrocytes precursor development impact. We found that the tomato labeled cells express cc1 signal after spinal cord injury, then there is a small part of the expression of GFAP positive cells. Shows that most of the OPC participate in forming remyelination, but a small number of OPC differentiation become astrocytes formation of glial scar.
