Objective: By observing the effect of Erzhi Pill on the active of serum peroxidase,myeloperoxidase and the content of serum lipid peroxide,brain tissue mitochondrial respiratory chain complexes of aging rats induced by D-galactose to further improve the role of anti-brain tissue aging mechanism on Erzhi Pill.Methods: Duplicate the aging rat model by means of intraperitoneal injection induced by ten percent D-galactose in this experiment.Take vitamin E as positive control group’s medicine,after positive group and each Erzhi Pill dose group via intragastric infusion for 10 weeks and prohibiting to eat but could drink water for 24 hours,each group was taken the carotid artery’s blood and brain beheaded to get index object in coil order,to measure the active of serum POD,MPO and the content of serum LPO,brain tissue mitochondrial respiratory chain complexes of rats by using the enzyme-linked immunoassay.Consequence: It has significant difference between each Erzhi Pill dose group,positive group and model group in aging rats of serum POD,MPO activity(p<0.05,p<0.01) and serum LPO content(p<0.05,p<0.01),especially in brain tissue mitochondrial respiratory chain complexes content(p<0.05,p<0.01).High dose group of Erzhi Pill was better than (low) dose group in curative effect.Conclusion: Erzhi Pill could reduce aging rats’ serum LPO and brain tissue mitochondrial respiratory chain complexes content,which could also reduce MPO activity and improve POD activity that induced by D-galactose,so it plays a role on fighting against oxidative damage for delaying brain tissue senescence.Its mechanism of action may be related to Erzhi Pill can reduce body active oxygen content and improve antioxidant enzyme activity.
