Targeted and rapid drug release in tumor sites still remains as a challenging topic in tumor clinical therapy. To improve the drug bioavailability, active ditelluride-containing groups will be for the first time introduced to water-soluble poly(ether-urethane)s using a facile one-pot approach. The obtained biodegradable poly(ether-urethane)s can be used to encapsulate hydrophobic antitumor drug doxorubicin(DOX) to prepare redox-responsive DOX-loaded poly(ether-urethane) micelles. In this proposal, we will investigate(1) Whether ditelluride-containing groups of the DOX-loaded poly(ether-urethane) micelles can rapidly response to glutathione(GSH) stimuli in tumor sites, and(2) whether remarkable efficacy of tumor therapy can be achieved using the rapidly responsive drug delivery system. This rapidly responsive poly(ether-urethane)s may enrich the family of delivery systems and provide a new platform for future biomedical nanotechnologies.
