| Objectives: To observe the clinical efficacy of Tongbianshuan (laxative suppository)and study the feasibility of Traditional Chinese Medicine usage through anus in thetreatment of functional constipation (gastrointestinal heat accumulation in TCM term).Methods:66patients who met the inclusion criteria were divided into two groups byrandom number table. The subjects in the treatment group(33cases) were given thelaxative suppository anal treatment, while the subjects in control group (33cases) weregiven Maren pills oral treatment. The treatments for all subjects in the two groups took4weeks for one period to observe the clinical curative efficacy of two groups, and this trailfollowed up these recovered patients for6months to observe the long-term efficacy.Results: Clinical study shows that the clinical efficacy of the treatment group is better thanthat of the control group in aspects of defecation frequency, fecal character and difficultydegree of defecation. There is a significant difference (P<0.05). What’s more, it shows thatthere is a significant difference between the two groups through comprehensive therapeuticefficacy analysis (P<0.05), and the treatment group is significantly better than the controlgroup with the total effective rate93.93%. Conclusions: This clinical trial results showthat the laxative suppository can not only relax bowels, purge heat, lead lag, but alsoimprove the patients’ clinical physical signs and radically cure dysphoric and depressivestate. This method in the treatment group is obviously better than that in the control group.Besides, there is no significant negative effects to hepatic and renal function and routineexamination of blood,urine and stool. So, it is a safe administration route and worthy ofPromotion in clinical application. |
