Objective:To discuss the effect of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NCT) on the complication for breast cancer patients after surgery. Methods:Patients with or without neoadjuvant chemotherapy undergoing breast cancer modified radical mastectomy from January2013to October2013,91and67respectively were collected. Compared the recovery of the two groups and then analyzed the the effect of neoadjuvant chemotherapy on the complication after breast surgery. Results:The drain duration was11.7±5.4days in patients receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy,10.5±4.9days in the other group, respectively, showing no difference (P=0.157).The drainage volume and wound healing time between the two groups was439±252ml,422±216ml (P=0.650) and13.1±5.6days,11.6±5.0days (P=0.091) respectively, showing no difference in statistics. The rate of the seroma was no difference between the two groups, with P=0.103.The degree of myelosuppression caused by chemotherapy was not associated with wound healing time(P=0.781)。Conclusion:The application of neoadjuvant chemotherapy on the breast cancer didn’t affect patients’ complication after breast surgery. It’s practicable and safe to apply the neoadjuvant chemotherapy in the suited breast cancer patients. When refered to the increasing risk of postoperative wound healing time, drainage volume, drain duration and seroma, perioperative, management should be considered carefully.
