Objective:Our research aimed at evaluation of CD127expression on CD4+CD45RO+and CD4+CD45RA+T-cells to acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) progression of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infected patients after long-term highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART).Methods:The counts of CD4+, CD8+, CD4+CD45RO+, CD4+CD45RA+, CD8+CD45RO+and CD8+CD45RA+T-cells in the peripheral blood of39cases of HIV-1-infected individuals after long-term HAART were determined with flow cytometry. The expression of CD127on CD4+CD45RO+, CD4+CD45RA+, CD8+CD45RO+and CD8+CD45RA+T cells was also measured by flow cytometry. The patients were divided into3groups(groupl-3) depending on their CD4+T-cell counts(<350/μL、350/μL≤X<600/μL、≥600/μL) and their plasma HIV-RNA was quantitated by COBAS AmpliSensor-PCR.Results:The CD4+CD45RO+, CD4+CD45RA+, CD4+CD45RO+CD127+, CD4+CD45RA+CD127+T-cell counts in group3were much higher than those in group1and2, but lower than normal level (P<0.05). The CD127expression and percentage of CD8+T-cell subtypes among three groups showed no significant differences (P<0.05). CD4+CD45RO+CD127+T-cell counts had significant correlation with CD4+, CD4+CD45RO+, CD4+CD45RA+T-cell counts, and CD4+CD45RA+CD127+T-cell counts had significant correlation with CD4+, CD4+CD45RO+, CD4+CD45RA+T and CD8+CD45RA+T-cell counts. On the contrary, the counts of CD8+CD45RO+CD127+, CD8+CD45RA+CD127+T-cells showed no-significant correlation with other subtypes of CD8+T-cells.Conclusion:CD127expression on CD4+CD45RO+and CD4+CD45RA+T-cells was correlated with the immunologic reconstitution of HIV-1patients receiving long-term HAART, which could be potential indicators of CD4+T cell recovery.
