Multi-Center Clinical Study Of Effect Of Traditional Cinese Medicine For Tonifying Kidney And Dispersing Blood Stasis Combined Hyperthermia On Bone Metastatasis Pain

The cancer pain of bone metastasis is a kind of complicated pathogenesis pain, seriously affecting the quality of life of the patients with advanced cancer. Seeking an effective measure which has lower adverse effects to deal with the pain of bone metastasis, improving the quality of life, and prolonging the survival time of the patients have positive clinical meaning.Objective:To observe the clinical effects of traditional Chinese medicine for tonifying kidney and dispersing blood stasis combined with hyperthermia in the treatment of the cancer pain of bone metastasis, and the effect on reliving pain, reducing the dosage of opioid drugs, and adverse effects, and improving the quality of life, and so on.Methods:182patients with the cancer pain of bone metastasis were randomly divided into the experimental group (traditional Chinese medicine for tonifying kidney and dispersing blood stasis combined with hyperthermia) and the control group (western medicine only). There were90patients in the experimental group, and92patients in the control group. The control group only took oxycodone and acetaminophen tablets (Tylox), while the experimental group took both oxycodone and acetaminophen tablets (Tylox) and Yishengukang decoction orally twice a day for14days, and were treated with hyperthermia for the pain area on the3rd,6th,9th and12th days. The pain scores, the frequency of breakthrough pain, and the dosage of Tylox, both before and after treatment in the two groups, were observed to assess the clinical effect. The performance status inluenced by the pain were compared to assess the quality of life of the patients.Results:The effective rate of the treatment group was77.8%(70cases), while the effective rate of the control group was53.3%(49cases), there was statistical difference (P<0.05). The average dosage of Tylox of the treatment group was57.21±14.541, and that of the control group was73.18±25.694, there was statistical difference (P<0.05). The satisfaction of the pain relievement and the treatment were higher of the treatment group than that of the control group.There was statistical difference of the Karaofsky Performance Score before and after the treatment in the treatment group (P<0.001). The difference of the Karnofsky Performance Score between the two groups after the treatment was statistical (P<0.05). There was statistical difference of the pain score before and after the treatment in both two groups (P<0.001). The difference of the pain score between the two groups after the treatment was statistical (P<0.05). The patients’condition of the daily activity, mood, sleeping and enjoyment of life after the treatment were better in the treatment group, and there was statistical difference (P<0.05).But there was no statistical difference in the terms of walking ability, working and the relationship with others (P>0.05).Compared with the condition before the treatment, the differences in both two groups were statistical (P<0.05). The treatment group had obvious advantage in the patients’condition of the daily activity, mood, sleeping and enjoyment of life especially (P<0.001).Conclusions:Traditional Chinese medicine for tonifying kidney and dispersing blood stasis combined with hyperthermia has a better clinical effect on relieving the cancer pain of bone metastasis.This treatment can effectively enhance the analgesic effect, reduce opioid dosage, and improve the quality of life of the patients.
