Objective:Cine phase-contrast magnetic resonance imaging was used totest patients with CM-I at both pre and post operation in aquantitative way,and through which the effectiveness of theopration can be evaluated.Methods:14cases who underwent operation of posterior fossa bonydecompression were chosen。Before their operation, all of themwere examed with a sagittally positioned MRI T1sequence whoseresults can be served as orientation to the cine phase-contrastimaging.A axial slice of the most compactive position around theforamen magnum can be obtained,on which the datas of CSF dynamicsand the areas of SS dorsal to the brainstem can be calculated.thesame line again after1week examination. Results:Patients hold a higher PV,lower nFV and mA compared tocontrol group. The comparison of the datas show that, the caudalPV of CSF decreased after surgery significantly (P <0.05),and on the selected slice, the maximum area of SS dorsal to thebrainstem increased significantly (P <0.05),the nFV of ROIshows no difference. What’s more, the severity of theherniation and the PV showed no significant correlation. Conclusion:The operation of posterior fossa bony decompression as atreatment of CM-I can better the CSF PV and mA in the shortterm, compared with the preoperative, and the treatment can berather effective.
