Objective To investigate the near future curative effect of nasal endoscopic surgery on lesions of local recurrence or residual after radiotherapy in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma.Material and method The clinical materials between March2009to January2014of20patients who had hospitalized in our department with recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma or lesions residue after radiotherapy are collected. Changes of the lesions of imaging and endoscopy before and after operations were compared.And complications related to the operations were analyzed.Results All the20patients had nasal endoscopic surgeries and the lesions of recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma or residual were removed completely.100~3000m1were lost during operations and800ml on average.6cases had meninges defect during surgeries and meningeal infection occurred2 cases.After treatment by decreasing intracranial pressure,dura repair and use of antibiotics,these patients were cured.Reviewing CT or MRI found tumor were completely removed.And1died.Conclusion Nasal endoscopic surgery can resect lesions of local recurrence or residual after radiotherapy completely and provide a safe and effective treatment for recurrence after nasopharyngeal carcinoma radiotherapy.
