Objective: To investigate the relationship between the ABO blood groups and the value of PSA in the patients with BPH.Methods: 1.Data of patients with BPH who came from the department of Urology of The Second Hospital of Dalian Medical University were collected.Clinical data include ABO blood group, age, the diseases which could affect on the PSA value are eliminated, these disease including urinary tract infection, urinary bladder stones, blood in urine, bladder tumor, diabetes. And more, the pathological result must be up to standard of benign prostatic hyperplasia change. 2.The data filter:eliminate the disease which may affect PSA value(including diagnosis of prostatic cancer, diseases including urinary tract infection, urinary bladder stones, blood in urine, bladder tumor, diabetes), the data including age, ABO blood type, and the PSA value from the other samples are collected. 3.The data was analyzed with SPSS software. Results: In a total of 473 cases, there were 228 cases conformed to the sample standard. There were 57 cases of A blood type, 68 cases of B blood type, 21 cases of AB blood type, 57 cases of O blood type. Age based on block is divided into 4groups(49-67,68-72,73-77,78-91),defined as low age group, middle age group, higher age group and the highest age group. Analyzed the data, there is no statistical difference between different ABO blood groups with PSA(P=0.541).. There is no statistical difference between age with PSA value in the total samples((P=0.454)).Different age groups and different blood types in the overall samples show no statistical difference(P=0.785).At the same age groups, PSA value in patients with different blood groups show a statistical significance. Type A and type O have obvious difference in low age group(P=0.030). Type A and type B have certain difference in middle age group(P=0.049). Type A and type O have obvious difference in higher age group(P=0.016). Type B and type O have certain difference in higher age group too.No statistical difference was found in the highest age group. And there is no obviously difference in AB blood type patients whom were diagnosed BPH.Conclusions: In different age groups, PSA value in different ABO blood type has statistical difference, maybe there is some reason in blood serum causes this, in the clinical cure, PSA value maybe give us a illusive signal, we should notice that.
