Objective:To investigate the prevalence status、epidemic trend and explore the risk factors of hyperuricemia (HUA) and metabolic syndrome (MS) among Residents over the age of 45 in a rural area of Kunming,so as to provide scientific evidence for HUA and MS prevention and control. Methods:Early January 2015-the end of February for A Zi Ying Township residents over 45 years old to investigate, By sex (male, female) and age (45-54 years,55-64 years,65-74 years,75-84 years,85 years and over) stratification, a total of ten layers. Site investigation including interviewing questionnaire, and blood collection three parts.Uniform questionnaire by trained and qualified professionals were asked to study the survey and physical examination, survey content in general (gender, age, nationality, occupation, education, income, etc.), medical history data includes respondents (hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes, etc.), medical and health services utilization (two weeks medication history, compliance, medical care and hospitalization), personal habits and life events (diet, physical activity, smoking, drinking tea, etc.), family history of disease (hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke, etc.), measurement of height, weight, waist circumference, blood pressure, heart rate, uniform testing glucose, total cholesterol, high density lipoprotein, low density lipoprotein, triglycerides and uric acid.Using male or postmenopausal women> 420μmol/L, premenopausal women> 350μmol/L as hyperuricemia Diagnostic criteria; 2004 Chinese Diabetes Society proposed MS defined as MS diagnostic criteria.Results:(1) A rural Kunming resident population over 45 years of high blood sugar, high blood pressure, overweight or obesity, hypertriglyceridemia (high TG), low high-density lipoprotein cholestero(low HDL cholesterol), dyslipidemia, metabolic syndrome, hyperuricemia, hyperuricemia+metabolic syndrome (HUA+MS) prevalence rates were 23.01%,44.2%,24.52%,33.44%,18.44%,39.46%,20%, 20.97%,7.0%.(2)High blood sugar, high blood pressure are overweight or obese, dyslipidemia four risk factors aggregation was the same individual, there are 0,1,2,= 3 fractions of the population accounted for 33.49%,23.01%, respectively,23.44%,20%. The detection rate of 0-4 fractions in two components of the highest detection rate was 23.44%, of which 132 cases are hypertension and dyslipidemia portfolio, accounting for 30.3%. There were 66.45% residents with different degrees of metabolic abnormity and 43.44% residents suffered from 2 or more than 2 kinds of metabolic abnormity.(3)Which increased along with age, especially women over the age of 65 and all components of MS prevalence rates tended to increase, while men less than 65 years and all components of MS detection the rate is higher than other age groups. Whether male, female prevalence of high blood sugar are closely related to age,85 years of age prevalence rate peak. MS and its components prevalence rates higher than the previous epidemiological investigation, indicating the economic development, improving people’s living standards, and increasing with age,HUA and MS prevalence is gradually increased.(4)Multivariate binary logistic regression analysis showed that there are intrinsic relationship between HUA and MS,overweight or obese, hypertriglyceridemia(high TG), low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(low HDL cholesterol) increases the risk of hyperuricemia, women as a protective factor can reduce the HUA’s danger. No or mild physical activity, intaking high-calorie or high-salt diet, smoking, drinking and other bad habits are possible risk factors for MS.In conclusion:(1)The prevalences of HUA and MS among residents over the age of 45, are generally high in a rural area of Kunming, there are higher prevalence rates of metabolic abnormity and MS in the region,so we should pay sufficient attention.(2)Prevalence MS and its components vary in different gender and age, there is an increasing trend with age, men under the age of 65, women over the age of 65 residents are the focus of intervention population for HUA and MS.(3)There are intrinsic relationship between HUA and MS, HUA is closely related to four indicators including women, overweight or obese, high TG,low HDL cholesterol, among them women are protective factor.(4)Unhealthy lifestyles and habits are risk factors causing a high incidence of MS, early screening in community populations to find out the high- risk MS groups, health education, regular medical examinations, actively control their weight, adjusting the diet, exercise and other interventions, are important measures for MS prevention and control.
