| In this study, we used randomized controlled trial to observe the different therapeutic effects between electroacupuncture of three acupoints nearby and include Fengchi(Fengchi(GB20), upper Fengchi(upper GB20) and lower Fengchi(lower GB20))and normal electroacupuncture on the Cervicogenic Headache patients accorded with the inclusion criteria, in order to find a more effective therapy to cure the Cervicogenic Headache.[Objective]To explore the clinical effects of the electroacupuncture of three acupoints nearby and include Fengchi on the Cervicogenic Headache, comparing with the normal electroacupuncture, in order to seek a new direction and reference to cure the Cervicogenic Headache.[Methods](1)General information. 63 patients of Cervicogenic Headache accorded with the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. As 2cases dropped out and 1 case eliminated, there were only 60 cases had completed practically, 30 cases for each group. The two groups were comparable as the patients’ basic information such as age, gender, and course had no statistical difference(P>0.05).(2)Treatment method. Points selected of the treatment group were Fengchi(GB20), upper Fengchi(upper GB20) and lower Fengchi(lower GB20), while the control group selected Baihui(GV20), Fengchi(GB20), Tianzhu(BL10), and Jiaji points of C3, C4 to acupuncture. After conventional disinfection, every points were inserted needles at an appropriate angle and depth, GV20 inserted horizontally backward at 0.5-1cun, BL10 and Jiaji points inserted perpendicularly at 1-1.5cun, GB20 inserted toward nose tip at 0.8-1cun, points upper and lower GB20 inserted vertically at 0.8-1cun. Afterwards, retained needles after Deqi with twirling mild reinforcing-reducing method, and selected the points upper and lower GB20 of the treatment group or Jiaji points of the control group to connect with an electrostimulator for half an hour, with successive frequency waves of 2 Hz and intensity adjusted to patients’ tolerance. Both groups were treated once daily, 5 times as a course, 2 days off between every two courses. The curative effect was assessed after treatment for 3 courses.(3)The therapeutic effects were evaluated by visual Analogue Scale(VAS), weekly headache total integral, total points of accompanying symptoms and range of cervical motion(ROM). Statistical analysis was conducted on the subjects before and after treatment.(4)Data analysis using SPSS statistical analysis software.[Results]By comparing the parameters before and after treatment including VAS, weekly headache total integral, total points of accompanying symptoms and ROM of the patients in two groups, there comes the results as follows:(1)There was no remarkable difference between the two groups before the treatment(P>0.05), indicating the comparability.(2)Comparision within the group. Above parameters before and after the treatment showed the difference was significant(P<0.05) in both groups, indicating the two therapies both can relieve Cervicogenic Headache.(3)Comparision between the groups. ROM score after the first week and third week both had a no significant difference(P<0.05), illustrating the two therapies had similar effect in improving the activity of cervical vertebra. The differences of VAS, weekly headache total integral and total points of accompanying symptoms after the first week were statistical(P<0.05), but after the third week it came to close(P>0.05), manifesting that both the two therapies could relieve headache efficiently, while electroacupuncture of three acupoints nearby and include Fengchi had more advantage in analgesia and improving accompanying symptoms in a short time.[Conclusion](1)Both the electroacupuncture of three acupoints nearby and include Fengchi and the normal electroacupuncture are effective in alleviating Cervicogenic Headache, while the former has faster pain-lessening effect.(2) Both the electroacupuncture of three acupoints nearby and include Fengchi and the normal electroacupuncture can improve the activity of cervical vertebra, and the effect is equal.(3) Both the electroacupuncture of three acupoints nearby and include Fengchi and the normal electroacupuncture have effect on improving the accompanying symptom of headache, while the former is more apparent in a short time. |
