Clinic Efficacy Of Flexibie Ureteroscopy Combined With Holmium Laser Lithotripsy In Treating Solitary Kidney Calculi

Objective:To evaluate the safety and therapeutic effect of flexible ureteroscopy combined with Holmium laser lithotripsy in treating solitary kidney calculi.MethodsFrom May2011to December2014,14patients with solitary kidney calculi after using flexible ureteroscopy with holmium laser lithotripsy in SIR RUN RUN SHAO Hospital were reviewed. Male8, Female6, the mean age was54years (range29-75years). Preoperative blood routine, urine routine and urine culture were done and positive patients were treated by sensitive antibiotics for three days. F6D-J tube were inserted in all patients to dilate the ureter for2weeks preoperatively. Factors such as operation time, stone-free rate (SFR), intraoperatve blood loss, postoperative hospital stay, complications and changes in serum creatinine were analysed. ResultsThe insertion of flexible ureteroscopy was successful in100%. The searching of stone was successful in100%. The mean stone size was1.7cm (range1.1-2.5cm).The mean operation time was87min (range60-140min). The mean intraoperatve blood loss was13ml (range5-50ml),The SFR was82.6%(12/14). Two patients received the second flexible ureteroscopy. The total SFR was92.8%(13/14); two patients underwent systemic inflammatory response syndrome(SIRS) and were cured after active treatment. The preoperative and postoperative serum creatinine had statistical difference (p<0.05). The mean postoperative hospital stay was2.5d (range2-4d).ConclusionFlexible ureteroscopy combined Holmium laser lithotripsy is safe and effective for solitary kidney calculi, and may offer advantages with respect to less invasion, rapid recovery and short hospitalization stay.
