ObjectivesTo determine the role of beeswax on nipple trauma through the nipple trauma model experiment, and further study the possible mechanisms. Explore the optimal concentration range of beeswax in promoting healing of nipple trauma model, thus providing new ideas for clinical to solve the problem of nipple trauma.MethodsModeling nipple trauma on rabbits, labeled the5wounds on the back of each rabbit as A, B, C, D, E randomly. Among the five groups, A, B, C, D groups were experimental groups, applying100%,75%,50%,25%beeswax respectively after modeling until7days later. E was control group, giving on treatment. Compare whether the nipple trauma score(NTS) and histological scores of epidermal and dermal regeneration (EDR), granulation tissue thickness(GTT), angiogenesis(An) and Ki67positive expression were different between the experimental groups and control group at Id.3d,5d.7d after modeling.ResultsThe histological scores of EDR and GTT in the experimental group and control group were increased gradually over time (P<0.01), indicating that all nipple trauma models had natural healing ability. Beeswax could effectively inhibit cracked, the NTS of75%beeswax group (3d,5d,7d) was significantly lower than control group (P<0.05). Beeswax could effectively promote the EDR, the effect of75%wax ester group (3d,5d) and25%wax ester group (ld,7d) were the most significant (P<0.05). beeswax could also promote GTT, and the effect of75%wax ester group (3d) was best (P<0.05). In addition, beeswax could promote the An, and the effect of50%beeswax group (1d,5d) and25%beeswax group (3d,7d) were significant (P<0.05). Finally, beeswax could promote cell proliferation activity, with the wound cell proliferation activity of50%beeswax group (3d),50%beeswax group (5d),75%beeswax (7d) more active than control group(P<0.05).ConclusionsBeeswax had an obvious effect on promoting healing o f nipple trauma model. What’s more, the25%-75%concentration range of beeswax could effectively accelerate the healing rate of rabbit nipple trauma model, especially in inhibiting cracked, promoting epidermal and dermal regeneration, granulation tissue growth, angiogenesis and wound cell proliferation activity, which provides a cheap and effective idea for the clinical treatment of nipple trauma.
