Objective: Chronic dacryocystitis is a common disease of the eye,and it must be eliminated before the intraocular surgery. Therefore, the treatment of chronic dacryocystitis is more and more get the attention of the majority of doctors and patients. In recent years, with the development of surgical treatment for chronic dacryocystitis, different kinds of operative methods emerge in endlessly.Lacrimal duct intubation with double tube under lacrimal endoscope belongs to the latest surgical methodfor treatingchronic dacryocystitis.Although there have been some scholars to research, but it has not been reported by large sample its exact clinical curative effect, and no one study the influence of factors such as gender, age, duration, and different extubation time for the prognosis of this surgery. This study is to observe the clinical curative effects oflacrimal duct intubation withdouble tube under lacrimal endoscopefor treatingchronic dacryocystitisby collecting large amounts of data.To explore its clinical application value and related factors. To provide theoretical basis for clinicians fortreating chronic dacryocystitis andmaking aproper choice for patients. Methods:FromJanuary 2013 to October 2014, 139 patients(152 eyes) with chronic dacryocystitis received lacrimal duct intubation withdouble tube under lacrimal endoscope were collected from department of ophthalmology of the fourth people’s hospital in Shenyang. All patients were in strict accordance with the criteria for the selected,Patients were follow-up on a regular basis after operation.Theextubation time was controlled strictly. The follow-up were continued to 6 to 12 months after extubation. Gender, age, course, extubation time and curative effect were recorded.Statisticswere used to analyze the relevant factors. The judgment standard of the postoperative curative effect: whether or not lacrimal patency and symptom improvement in patients with epiphora as efficacy criteria: cure :epiphora symptoms disappeared or significantly improved, lacrimal duct patency; improved: epiphora symptomsimproved, but lacrimal duct passable; invalid: no relief of symptoms of epiphora, lacrimal irrigation is not smooth.Final data using SPSS16.0 software for statistical analysis, the treatment effect using Mann-Whitney rank test or Spearman correlation test. The statistical analysis with P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results:After postoperative follow-up 6 ~ 12 months, 139 cases(152 eyes) in patients with chronic dacryocystitis cured 130 eyes(85.5%), improvement in 8 eyes(5.3%), invalid 14 eyes(9.2%), the total effective rate was 90.8%.All patients had no obvious complications.Single factor analysis showed that the curative effects in patients with different gender has no statistical significance(P> 0.05), in patients with different course also has no statistical significance(P > 0.05), while in patients withdifferent ages the difference was statistically significant(P = 0.024),in patients with different extubation sequence the difference was also statistically significant(P = 0.022), in patients withdifferent extubation timethe difference also has statistical significance(P = 0.047).Conclusion:Thecurative rate of lacrimal duct intubation withdouble tube under lacrimal endoscope for treatingchronic dacryocystitis is high without obvious complication. It is worth widely promoted in clinic. And it is one of the ideal means of therapy for treating chronic dacryocystitis.Lacrimal duct endoscopy technology seriously affects the future development of lacrimal duct surgery, and it conforms to the needs of patients, therefore, will be an important method for treating chronic dacryocystitis in the future.Preoperative fully consider the impact on curative effects in patients of different ages, and after extubation regularly followed-up and strictly control the extubation order and extubation time, you can further improve the success rate.
