Objective: To explore whether there was a link between type2 diabetes and breast cancer about women. Methods: A retrospective analysis, which includes complete information of patient records from January 2009 to June 2014, and all of them were from our hospital, and adopted the method of case-control study. Selected 874 breast cancer patients who were definitely diagnosed through histopathologic examination as case group, and this group of patients were women. In addition, according to the principle of nearly 1:1, randomly selected 880 non-tumor female patients in the same period as control group. To compared the statistical difference in type 2 diabetes constituent ratio of patients who were respectively from case group and control group. It was to collect the information for patients from the case group and the control group by accessing medical records, including age, menarche age, body mass index, history of high blood pressure, family history of breast cancer, family history of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Then, statistical methods was used to analyse breast cancer risk factors on the impact of the disease between groups. The case group was further divided into two groups according to whether with type 2 diabetes. It was compared whether there was statistical significance about the difference in the breast cancer of clinical pathological parameters cases with and without type 2 diabetes groups. Results: 1. Single factor analysis showed that BMI, the family history of breast cancer and history of type 2 diabetes was related to breast cancer(P<0.05). A major risk factors were type 2 diabetes and family history of breast cancer after multivariate logistic regression analysis(P<0.05). 2. The differences from two groups of patients with type 2 diabetes and without type 2 diabetes from the group of breast cancer in the lymph node metastasis, tumor stage, Her-2 positive aspects, female progesterone receptor negative rate were statistically significant(P<0.05); The differences from two groups of patients with breast cancer in tumor size, nerve or vascular invasion, pathological grading, pathological female or progesterone reseptor, Ki-67 positive aspects were not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion: 1. Type 2 diabetes mellitus may be a risk factor for breast cancer. 2. Breast cancer patients with type 2 diabetes are more likely to lymph node metastasis, and there are more tumor stage later in the case group with T2DM; There are more positive of Her-2, female progesterone receptor negative in breast cancer patients with type 2 diabetes.
